Also, where may I receive one - may I simply go to my doctor? I'd also like to mention I'm in Rhode Island if there are any health pro's. that could do this. I'm of an average weight - about 5'4"/around 138 - 141lbs. Any help is appreciated; I know barely anything about body fats.

How do I calculate my approximate body fat percentage? I am an 18 year old female, weigh 126.4 lbs, and am about 5'10'' feet tall. (Strange as it may sound, sometimes I am taller, measuring at 5'11.'' I think it has something to do with the fact that have been getting alignment treatments done at the chiropractor.) Anyways, can you tell by this information? I am fairly athletic, and have well defined calf and thigh muscles. My abs are trim as well, and are hard when I flex, although I don't have a six pack or anything serious like that. Wow, I don't at any of that crap. I am a vegetarian and eat a lot of soy. I do have carbs and stuff though, like some breads and tortilla. I exercise quite often, like I said before.
Calculating body fat percentage? I'm starting the zone diet and the back of the book tells me how to measure my body fat percentage by taking measurements. However, I have a scale that does the same thing. I used both methods and one is 31% (scale) while the other is 39% (zone method). Which should I use? The scale takes into account my age, height, and gender.

How to calculate body fat? How do I calculate overall body fat percentage with a fat caliper? Where can I get a cheap or free caliper? If you dont know what a body fat caliper is dont bother replying! bmi doesn't calculate overall body fat percentages it calculates weight to height ratios. Question about my body fat percentage? I'm a 14 year old female, 5'6 and a half, and i weigh just a little bit less than 130. I'm pretty active and eat extremely healthy, today for P.E. we had to get our body fat percentage calculated, my teacher used this little scale thing taht first told us our weight and then our body fat, mine said 26%. . . . . I personally think thats way too high. But is that healthy for my age and weight and activity level? and how accurate are those scales? thanks(:
how do you lower your body fat percentage ?? im 15 and im about 5'2 im a dancer i do it everyday i know that i have 83 pounds of muscle and i weigh about 110 so i have some fat on me (dont really know where) we calculated my body fat percentage and it was 23.9 everybody was extremely shocked at how high it was .. my dance teachers husband is a body builder and said it was because of the food i eat so how or what foods can i eat to lower it ??
How accurate are the scales that measure body fat? I am speaking of the floor scales that anyone can purchase for little more than a simple bathroom scale. Apparently they generate an electronic current through your body that is then measured to calculate your body fat percentage. I understand how such a device is supposed to work but I wonder how it compares to a professional body fat percentage test. It just seems like a consumer product rather than a scientific instrument. Thoughts?
How can i calculate my percentage of body fat? Im 15, male, 6 ft tall and weight 72 kg's. I read somewhere that in order to start training for abdominal muscles you should get down to 10% or less body fat. How can i calculate this and see where im at?
At what weight and/or body fat percentage can I expect to see a somewhat flat stomach? I'm a 25 y/o male who has gone from 430lbs to a current weight of 235lbs. I bought a body fat calculating scale and it claims that I'm currently at 19% body fat. So is there any window that I could reasonably expect to achieve a semi-flat stomach? If needed, I'm currently running 8 miles a day, and lifting weights at the local gym every day to every other day.
Help with calculating and determining Body Fat Percentage loss for a friendly competition.? I began a body fat % loss challenge with some friends. I'd like to know the best way to determine the winner. We thought about going off of weight percentage lost, but felt it would be unfair to those who had less weight to lose. There were also some concern because some wanted to lift weights... so then we went with whoever dropped more body fat percentage. But we feel unsure about using this method. We feel someone who started at 45% body fat would have an easier time dropping than someone with 20% body fat. This is where the problem arises. What should we do? How do we judge the winner fairly?
my body fat percentage is 10% is this bad? I have read that athlete women should not have a body fat percentage that's lower than 20%. When I went to a nutritionist she calculated my body fat for me and it was 11%, thru out highschool and college it's hovered between 10-11& (at highest percent). But yet I am 5'1 and 110 lbs. That leaves me with almost 10 lbs of fat on my body while the rest is muscle mass. Is this bad? I used to be a dancer, and before a gymnast, I've always been small and I feel fine this way. Are there any negatives effects of having too low a body fat % asides from period loss. I get my period as long as I am over 98lbs. Do you think I am healthy??? I was wierded out by the fact that my bdy fat % is so low, I'm small boned + all but I do not look like a refugee at all. Advice would help anyone who knows anythng about what body fat means and what it does to your general health...........THANKS!!

I failed by 1.7 percent body fat. since then I have lost another 15 to make my total loss in weight of 55 lbs. I have an 18.25 inch neck, a 41.25 inch waist, and I am 5'8 and 1/4 inch tall. I am trying to pass the body fat percentage by monday the 18th. can someone please tell me the exact equation that they use? I only had to lose 4 lbs, but i lost 15 just to make sure so that i could eat a huge lobster and steak at red lobster the night before I ship. Also I just want to make sure that i am under.
Body fat percentage calculating device accuracy? I had that done today with some device that looked like a nintendo game controller that supposedly sent electrical currents? or whatevr through and it measures your body fat percentage and body mass index. are those things accurate?
What is a healthy body fat percentage for a woman? I have been losing weight and only have two more pounds to go. My scale calculates body fat and weight. Today I weighed in at 127.4 and 19% body fat. I am 5' 8''. Is that a good body fat percentage or is it too low?
What is my body fat percentage? Last Year I weighed 152 lbs with 25% body fat. I lost all that during the summer. I now weigh 130 lbs but I dont know my body fat. Can you please calculate my body fat percentage?
how to caculate body fat percentage? i want some guideline to calculate body fat percentage. i am 180 cm my weight is 80 kg & my belly is 36" my hip is 38" what is my fat percentage?
2. The formula used to calculate the percentage of body fat for men is –? % Body fat = (-98.42 + 4.15 w - 0.082 b) / b Where, "w” is the waist measurement in inches and "b" is the total body weight in pounds. What is the body fat for a man weighing 156 pounds and waist measurement 32 inches. Round the percentage to the nearest integer. I came up with .14 that does not seem right for some reason
no way this is my body fat percentage, is it? Today I did a body fat percentage check on apparently just some sort of scale. It asked gender, age, and how often i did physical activity, It then measured my weight, (it had those medal foot prints) then a thing came down and tapped my head to measure my height. and that was it???, then it said my body fat was 19.7%!!! In highschool i had a 6% body fat using a caliper test, I weighed just 12 pounds less, that was 3 years ago Now im not stating any of this to brag or anything dumb like that but, I now weigh 142 pounds and since then i have regularly worked out 2-3 times a week, eat healthy and have almost completely cut drinking pop, I have a clear 6 pack, and very noticible vascularity expecially in my arms, (i have never had the abs in highschool) i am in better shape then I was then too. and I just didnt think that was possible or at least plausible to have visible abs and veins with 20% body fat. Sorry if this whole thing seemed stupid to ask but I was just shocked that all my weight training and exercising rewarded me 14% more body fat... I just gotta know from you guys was this method really a useful way to find out my bf%? I honestly can not believe this method is at all an accurate way to calculate body fat, it just didnt seem like enough information that i gave it. I know that I quite possibly could have gained body fat. obviously expecting to be below 6% is somewhat unrealistic. but i was expecting to be around 8-10% not 20. Also I'm not trying to lose weight lol I've actually been trying (although slower than i would like) to gain weight.
body fat percentage.. too high? I am 17 years old and weight 146 1bs.. at the gym today they calculate by body fat percentage and it said 26%!!!! I know i could afford to loose some weight, but I didn't think I was that huge. why is it so high when I exercise almost everyday of the week?? HELP
Body fat percentage.... (please read details)? ok this isn't my body fat percentages it's my little cousin. she forgot her password anyway she asked me to ask this question for her. she went to many different websites and calculated her Body Fat Percentage. here's what she got - 9.9% body fat -0.20% body fat 5.8% body fat -24% body fat -0.98% body fat 5.84% body fat 10.6% body fat 11.4% body fat -15% body fat -29% body fat 7.23% body fat 6% body fat 5.84% body fat 6% body fat she wanted to know which one out of these sounds right? she's 5'0 and 1/2 and 74 pounds. shes gained weight recsently from a medication. anyway which one sounds right? i think the 6% sounds somewhat right. thats my opinion.. David we didn't use a BMI calculator to figure her body fat out. .we used a website specifically made and used for seeing the Body Fat Percentage.
Body fat percentage? Is there any way to calculate your body fat percentage without one of those belly pincher things? i really want to know if im at a healthy percentage.
Olypic athlete body fat-8% for men, what is womens? Also, how do they calculate that? Because the standard bmi really doesn't apply to athletes as they have a lot of muscle that adds a lot of weight to their height. So supposedly 8% is the body fat percentage for men olympic athletes, so how do they calculate that and what is a woman's?
Body fat % Amateur Boxer? Hi I'm getting back into boxin after a spell out. I used to compete at around 69 kilos (152 pounds) and currently weigh 77 kilos (169). I'm 5'8'' and everyone i fought at 69 Kilos (6 fights - 3 wins, 3 losses) were always taller which was annoying. I calculated my body fat using calipers and the 7 site test and am currently 21.77% body fat. Ideally i'd like to compete again at 64 Kilos (141 pounds)- light welter. This would mean having a body fat percentage of 6.24 % though - is this ok? I have no doubts I could do it because i am a very hard and dedicated trainer and am well aware of correct nutrition and protein requirements for maintainig muscle mass. I just wanted your advice as to whether this is safe and/or advisable. The next weight catagory up is 69 Kilos - welter - my old weight and would mean a body fat % of 12.76%.
Concerned about possible high Body Fat percentage? Hiya everyone, I just have a little question about body fat etc. I've not had a chance to have my body fat calculated but from a hunch I would generalize that i'm not in a fantastic position regarding it. I've just turned 20, Male, I'm 5'10" and only 9.5 stone (133 pounds). However I feel quite flabby around the waist which doesn't seem like such a huge problem when i'm standing up, my navel just seems to be pretty average, not flat, but not fat either. However when I sit down, It's like i'm just as overweight as somebody almost obese. Hope i've made my dilemma as clear as possible and what would you suggest? People always comment me as being thin but from what I read, you can look slim to people but have a high body fat percentage. If I loose body fat won't that affect my overall weight? Which is already on the underweight scale for somebody of my height.
Body fat chart makes no sense for me...? i went on http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/ and calculated my body fat, but it make sno sense after... i weigh 118Ibs, my waist is 28' , my hips are 38', my wrist is 6 and my foram (im not sure where to mesure that but i guess im 9') so they said i had a Body Fat Percentage of 32.62%. im only 5'6 and im 16 years old. then they tell you to go see what your ideal weight would be and they calculate your wight and your body fata nd tell you how much weight youd have to lsoe to go to your perfect weigh and id have to go to 137Ibs.... are they saying i have too much body fat? i dont understand anything..
Body fat Percentage, Machine Calculated Question? I use a body fat machine, you grip it and it sends the signal through the body and comes back with a random number of how much of your body is fat, yes i know they're not accurate, but I've been dunked under water multiple times, which is about 95% accurate i'd say, and it's been known to be about 2-4% off (the machine compared to the dunking). Anyway as for my question, Why does age have anything to do with how much fat is in my body? for instance, the machine tester, said i was 16% body fat, but my birthday is this thursday, so I put that I was 19 instead of 18 just to check, and It dropped me down to 13%. That doesn't make any sense , how should age affect how much fat is in the body? I know age is used to determine a healthy level of % fat in the body, but it shouldn't affect how much fat is IN the body? any ideas? Thanks
Most accurate body fat estimator? Aside from water displacement, does anyone know the most accurate formula for calculating body fat percentage? I get a huge range. According the YMCA formula, I'm obese (funny because I'm also considered severely underweight for my height), and according to the U.S. Navy's formula, I'm an athlete (also far from accurate). Thanks! (Also, please do not direct me to BMI calculator. I know my BMI. I'm looking for an accurate body fat estimation.)
What do you think about the scale that not only weighs you but checks your fat ratio.? There are supposed to be sensors where you place your feet & it can tell your fat ratio "using a harmless electronic current ." I says it "measures body fat for a more complete picture of your total health" & "Measures weight, changes in weight and calculates body fat percentage" Has anyone used this? Does it work? I'm considering getting it because I am doing a lot of weight lifting as well as starting a diet after the holidays. So I will be gaining muscle as I lose fat. I want a scale that will tell me if that 5 pound weight loss means I lost 10lb fat & gained 5 lb muscle OR just lost 5 lb fat.
Body fat percentage testing accuracy? I have a scale that shows my body fat (not sure how it works) but it says 31. According to a height and weight chart I am also around 30-31 (which is fat.) I have a lot of muscle though, especially in my legs and I work out 5 times a week pretty vigorously so I always wondered if that fat reading was high. So, i had my personal trainer calculate my body fat with calipers and it came out at 21. I was shocked thats more than 30% less than the other readings. I'm 5'7" and 1/2" and weigh 180. Should I just get another test because so far the readings have ranged from "very good" to "overweight" I'd really like to know which reading is correct. Opinions please.
Body fat of 5.76%! Impossible!?!?!? Hi I just calculated my body fat percentage using http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/body-fat-chart.php. I'm 156 pounds and have a waist of 28 inches the results were 5.76% This is impossible isn't it. You have a essential fat sorage of 2-5%. Athletes have a body fat of 6-13% If this is incorrect can anyone recommend a RELIABLE body fat calculator please? Thanks I tried the link from MotoX86 the BFP result was 3.08% And yes I am very tall (6.2"/6.3") I tried the link from MotoX86 the BFP result was 3.08% And yes I am very tall (6.2"/6.3"), slim and rather muscular
How can I find out the percentage of my body fat? I want to know what percentage of my body is fat and what percentage is muscle. Is there any way to calculate this information on the computer rather than using expensive machines that are only available to the seventh graders and up at my school. If there are any RELIABLE websites that allow you to do this, PLEASE let me know as as soon as you read this question. Thanks, ♥audrey♥
Female body fat percentage question...? Alright, I am a little confused. I am in pretty good shape and currently at 22% body fat. But I'd like to tone up even more and see some muscle definition. I read that for women, muscle will not show until you get to under 14% bodyfat. Well, that seems really low to me...I calculated the weight I would need to be at to get down to that kind of percentage and the BMI came out to read that I would be really underweight. I jsut don't get it! Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks!
Easy question for weight lifters/body builders!!!? Ok ive just started a diet to lose weight , been doing cardio mostly and didnt bother with weights, though i lose 6 pounds since then, my diet is right though i started worrying that i was losing too, much lean body mass, ideally i need to by a body fat percentage calculating machine, though in the mean time i started lifting weights, id start with my triceps doing 6 reps of 60 pounds then going up 10 pounds for another 6 reps after about a 30 sec rest inbetween reps, i did that up to about 110 pound where my muscles would fatigue, i did that on cable cross overs tricep and bicep exercises, the day after my i was stiff aching in need of a stretch, i think that was his friday, on saturday i hit the gym again and did a little less, on saturday i was aching so i left the weghts along and just did cardio to let my muscles rest, i have a day off sundays, thogh my muscles are stull killing me,shall i hit the weights tomoz if they feel the same or just stick with cardio til they dont hurt?

biggest loser game? My family and i want to play biggest loser at home... We have people of all different body weights though. some of us need to lose ten pounds and some of us need to lose two hundred. what is the fairest way to calculate who is doing the best without using body fat percentage, because some of us dont necessarily want to lose the amount of weight that is considered healthy, the still want a little fluff left over. if anyne has any ideas, please post the only reason the ten pound loser is playing is so she can support her loved ones... but we still have to make it fair for her
25 Points To The Best Answer.? I'm 11 years of age. Yes, I am aware that I am against the 'Terms of Service'. Report me, & I'll get banned. I can just as easily make a new account. Now to the point. I have used BMI Calculators but they all seem to have me in a different category. If you could find me a accurate BMI Calculator (more likely have best answer if you calculate on there for me). Next, I was wondering if there was a possible way for me to find my body fat percentage without much work, online preferably. Last, my information. Born June 14, 1996. 4' 11" and 78 Ibs.
How can I work out the maximum calories, fat etc I should consume a day in order to not gain weight but lose? I am slim but I am currently trying to get rid of the puppy fat areas so muscle will show more but I don't believe in starving myself or eating ridiculously small amounts of food. I want to eat the right amount and have that energy I need to get me through the day but at the same time lower the percentage of fat on my body.. I've lost so much weight since january just by changing the amount of food I eat. I use to just eat 1 big meal a day and have minor snacks now and again but mid january I started eating 3 small portions per day. I thought I would be hunrgy and want more but I found that I started to feel full up.. it was like my stomach shrunk. I am happy with the results because I said to myself I was going to get them and I did. Now I want to eliminate all the unecessary puppy fat on my body and get the muscle to show so I can atleast be 100% satisfied with my body instead of %60. I would appreciate some advice. I am ready to calculate but need to know what.
My bodyfat...? Today in our P.E lesson- our teacher measured all of us and calculated our body fat percentages- Mine is 9.5%- Is that good or bad? My BMI is 23.7. I have been bodybuilding for quite some time now so I would like to know btw- I am 14yrs old ( 5'9'' and 153lbs )
How is bodyfat percentage calculated? How is bodyfat percentage calculated? Is it possible for a man with, say, 30-40% of body fat to go down to 5-8% of bodyfat, and what would be the major difficulties in slimming down even with a full dieting and average workout? Is it true that fat stored around internal organs cannot be cleared through dieting and even workout, unlike fat under the skin?
Losing 40lbs? Ok i am a jr. in high school and have always been bigger than the rest of the kids but not really obeice. I play football and my coach tested my body fat content on a scale of some kind...needless to say its 30% and i have calculated that in order to get to a healthy percentage ie. 15-25% i must lose 40lbs before football starts in May. Now im involved with wrestling (which is a very intense and high in cardiovascular exercise), and ive always worked out regularly. A university nutritionist also calculated that i need 4,200 calories a day to maintain my weight so i've changed my diet so that i eat less than 3,000 calories aday so that by the end of the week i cut 7,000 calories out of my diet or 2 lbs. Sorry for the life story but i just want to know if this is a good way to lose weight and if there are any other things i can do to get down to 225 by May and still maintain my strength in the weight room? Is there anything else i can do? thanks
How much Protein should I be consuming? I weight train for 1hr 5 times per week moderate weights? I also do cardio in the same sessions for 30-40mins per workout... I need to know grams or some articles or websites to calculate how many grams for this much activity to actually build muscle (and hopefully lose some body fat percentage). I am male 5'10 or 179cms and 81kgs or 178 pounds medium frame. Also any other advice on building muscle while keeping calories low (1300 per day 40-50% protein). Please only serious answers. Thanks heaps :)
