What is a healthy body fat percentage for a woman? I have been losing weight and only have two more pounds to go. My scale calculates body fat and weight. Today I weighed in at 127.4 and 19% body fat. I am 5' 8''. Is that a good body fat percentage or is it too low?
what is a healthy body fat percentage? there is this scale you can stand on that tells you your body fat percentage. i got 24%, and i dont know if that means i am 1/4 fat or what. this is pretty wierd because i am thin.
Is my body fat percentage healthy? I am a slender woman in my late twenties. I recently stepped on a scale at a friend house that measures body fat percentage (I really can't comprehend how this works, but it supposedly does). It said I had a body fat percent of 20%. My friend said this is high. I know that you can be slender and still have a high body fat percentage. Is mine healthy?
What is a healthy body fat percentage? For a teenage girl. I am 15, 5'3, and my weight fluxuates between 113 and 117... I started to lose weight about 8 months ago, and ended up losing about 15 pounds to get to where I am right now, but my period didn't stop until about 4 months ago. My dietician suspects that I might have too low a body fat percentage, although my weight isn't too low. She intends to check it this week. Anyway, what is a healthy body fat range for me?
What is a healthy body fat percentage for me? I'm like freaking out because this website told me I'm overfat: http://www.am-i-fat.com/ I'm 5'4" 100-104 pounds (water fluctuation) Waist=26 inches Hips=29 inches Wrist=5.5 inches Thigh=16 inches Fattest part of arm=8.5 inches I'm 13 years old Am I really fat?? Idk...answers will still be helpful! Thanks!
Do Have a Healthy Body Fat Percentage? My info: 98lbs 5'1" 33% body fat I'm 13 year old I have two questions 1] Is that healthy? 2] If not how do I lower it? I got it all done in my PE class so it could be wrong. When I did some research on it, I didn't think it could be right because I am a cheerleader and I play softball.
How much weight is two inches of waist? I'm 5'7.25" and I have a waist of 37.75" and a body fat percentage of 17%. I want to shrink my waist down to 35.5" (2.25" less) which should get me closer to a very healthy 14% body fat percentage. Anyone have any clue how much weight that would be around? My goal is to lose 10 pounds of fat in a month. Is that too much or not enough? Hey, BAGS, you must be using some magical calculators because height and waist aren't enough to get bodyfat percentage in any of them. Not even close to accurately, anway... so as you said to me. I think it might be impossible that your numbers are correct. Why don't you try here: http://www.he.net/~zone/prothd2.html or here: http://www.linear-software.com/online.html and for those My neck is 19.5" My height is 67.25" My abdomen is 37.75"
If I want to burn fat and be healthier and stronger, should I do cardio then strength train or vice versa? Today a trainer at the gym told me that I have to strength train before doing my cardio. He said if I reversed it, I'd be destroying my muscles. Other trainers have never told me that it's bad to do cardio then strength training and I read somewhere that if you want to improve your cardio health and lose weight that you should cardio then strength train and if you want to build muscle you should flip that routine. I want to lose some fat (I'm 5'8" and 140 lbs), strengthen my muscles (core in particular), and just be healthier overall. When I've worked out in the past, I've ended up lowering my body fat percentage and gaining weight because I was building muscle. Does what this trainer said make any sense? Have I been doing it all wrong?
Healthy body fat percentage? I am 13 years old and I weigh 139 pounds. I am a major athlete. I play volleyball, softball, and basketball. I have a body fat percentage of 17%. Is this healthy?
body fat percentage question? i did a body fat percentage test online, and it says i have 23.2 percent body fat, 39.7 body fat, 131.3 lean muscle. i do agree that i have alot of muscle and some fat, i'm 5'4 and 16... is this a healthy body fat percentage? i feel hugeee anyway! http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html#healthyamount?ic=506016
How do I lose body fat? I'm 14, 5 feet tall, and 130 lbs. I have no idea what my fat percentage is. Last year, I was 120, in top shape, and I could run a 6 minute mile. I was freakishly strong, and I had very lean muscles. That was when I had to watch what I ate and had to work out and run everyday for sports. After tennis season ended, I let myself go because it killed me sleeping at 11 and waking up at 4:30 to go for a jog, go to school, practice, homework, more jogging and working out, then going to bed. I also happen to really love food. I am willing to do all of that again, but I'm afraid that it might shock my body if I get back up and do that routine. I want an easier way to lose weight without losing water weight and muscles. What can I do? And any healthy, logical, and possible way????
healthy body fat percentage? O.K. So in P.E. today than we were doing first of the year stuff. (height, weight etc.) and so on the body fat percentage thing i got 29% And so im wondering whats healthy body fat percentage? And whats over weight? (im 15 years old, 64", 120 lbs) k so i was thinking that the number i told my friends was right till i was lookin at sites online so i looked up a site and did a some thing to have them tell me my % and i got 119 and i feel stupid but i read the number wrong on my paper.. i mean %19
How can I get my body fat percentage to go up really fast? I have this dumb P.E. class where at the beginning of the year we all got our body fat percentage measured. I lost points on this assignment because I didn't have "healthy" body fat percentage (between 12% and 25%). I tested in at around 8% body fat. How can I try and make my body fat percentage go up really fast with only a month left before the final test? I don't own a body fat tester, but I think that I have maybe gained 1 percent or so. If I lose any more points, I'll be in risk of getting a sort of crappy grade.
Im a little confused with this whole bmi and body fat percentage help plz? ok so i did a test to see what my body fat percentage was. I did several of them to get an accurate total and it came out to be 17 percent. 17 i think is rather healthy if you ask me. Now i go onto this bmi thing and i enter my height and weight which is 5 ft 11 and 215 lbs and the thing says im overweight by 36 lbs. How can i be overweight by so much and have a healthy body fat percentage makes no sense. Is this bmi thing inaccurate or should i go redo my body fat test again. I calculated my body fat at the high school they do for free. they do like some thing where they clip something on your leg. idk it was wierd i also did an online thing where you put it your waist size neck size and your height. my waist is 37 inches and my neck 19 and it came out to 17 like the hs test said. i am pretty built i think i work out 5 times a week...a bench 245 deadlift 375 and squat 305. and i do a 6 35 minute mile on the treadmil so that like a 9 minute mile i guess if i do it outside on the track. i also do about 9 chin ups too.
What do you think is a good/healthy body fat percentage? i have a 15.4% body fat 18.5 pounds of fat - 101.5 pounds of lean in US, im about a size 3 is this healthy? should i loose a few % of fat? i feel i should but what do you think is a good/healthy body fat percentage I also don't look very lean (i have somehwat of a tummy and lovehandles) how many % should i loose to get baby abs and stronger leg muscles? Oh and i'm a female and i also don't want any of those wu-yi/acai berry answers. i dont really believe in those and dont want to waste my money on them. thanks! im 15 :) and can you expand a bit david t?
healthy weight and percent body fat? im a 13 year old girl, and weigh about 128 lbs. I play national bound ice hockey so im more muscular than most girls.. Whats a healthy weight? oh and im about 5 foot 7 inches. Whats a healthy body fat percentage? thank you so much in advance!
What does your body fat percentage mean? If I had a healthy body fat percentage, my weight would still be too much for my height (over 150)! I am 5'5. I don't get it. Why? Is it because I have a large frame? Still, 165 lbs seems a bit too big for an 18 year old girl that is 5'5. According to BMI, at least, which I know isn't 100% accurate.
Body fat - is this healthy? My body fat percentage is estimated to be around 9%. For someone looking to improve their fitness and perhaps get into boxing, would that be considered good or should I think about trying to lower it? And if I should lower it, what's the best way of doing it?
What would be a good goal body fat percentage for me? i am 22 years old, i weigh 190 lbs, however, i am not big b/c I go to gym often. Currently my BMI is 28.7 (which states i am overweight; but i have read is inaccurate bc muscle weighs more than fat) my body fat percentage is 19.6%. i am starting the p90x program and i want to get back down to 175 lbs. what is a good healthy body fat percentage for a goal?
Is my body fat percentage healthy? 4%? I work out a whole lot, maybe 7-8 hours a week and am pretty good sized and all that... 5'11" and 152 pounds. Arm measurement- 15 inches, chest- 40 inches and waist is around 30.5 inches. I got my body fat measured and it was like 4%. Is that Ok? I know the standards are a little different for athletes and all that but still it seems kinda low..
Body Fat Percentage and Muscle Mass? If someone has a healthy body fat percentage, but is technically underweight according to BMI, would this mean the person had insufficient muscle mass. How can you differentiate between a healthy body fat percentage in someone with a good level of muscle mass and an unhealthy level of muscle mass. Otherwise someone could be deemed as healthy, but have unhealthily low levels of muscle mass. For example, a 5ft2 female loses with only 70lb of lean muscle and 20lb of fat. She would have what appears to be a healthy 22% body fat level even though she only weighs 90lb, yet her lean body mass appears far too low (unless she is very small boned indeed). I don't see how this can be healthy. In fact she could just keep losing weight and still have a healthy body fat percentage due to all the muscle loss. So is there a minimum lean muscle mass amount people should have to be healthy? TIA
What is the healthy amount of body fat to have? I went online to a full body analysis and it told me that my body fat is 20% of my weight. What is the healthy body fat percentage? How can I get at that level? Sources? Here's the link I used. http://health.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Full-Body-Analysis I'm a male.
How quickly can your body fat percentage go up? Iv not trained for three days. will my body fat percentage increase much? i kept the same kind of diet and its resonably healthy. Just need to no if my body fat percentage would of gone up much. If it has how can i bring it back down quickly.
Do I have a healthy Body Fat percentage at 7.2%? Hey, im a 18yr old male turning 19 in Aug. Im currently 180lbs and have a BFP of 7.2% i also workout everyday, only do cardio 3 times a week always after weight training. Is that healthy? Please Help Thx.
Is This A Healthy Body Fat Percentage? For a woman, 11.8%?? i got it from this site : http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html (i know its not as accurate as a doctors test) thanks everybody!!!!!
What percent of body fat is healthy for...? What percent of body fat is healthy for a 13 year old girl who is 5 feet, 2 inches and weighs 100 pounds? We did a body fat test in P.E. today and I would like to know what is a healthy body fat percentage.
What body fat percentage is needed for flat abs? I am apparently around 22.5% body fat, in the healthy range, but there is still a stubborn layer of fat around my lower abs. What body fat percentage should I be aiming for to shed it and get visible abs?
Body fat percentage and other health questions? I am trying to keep my family healthy. And I want to make sure I am feeding them a healthy diet. Of course, with my husbands consent. (so no I am not picking on him and I am not saying he is fat) But I want him to be a healthy weight. So I have his body fat percentage. What is the ideal body fat percenatge for him? And what other things should I keep in mind while cooking and preparing healthy meals?
How long do you think it would take to reduce my body fat percentage? After my exams finish next week I plan to try and reduce my body fat percentege and get fit. At the moment it is at about 35%. If I went to the gym 3-4 times a week and did a mix of cardio and weights for about an hour an a half, went swimming for about an hour twice week, took 4g of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) a day, reduced my in take of calories, fat and carbohydrates, and ate 5-6 small, well-balanced meals a day how long would it take me to reach a healthier fat percentage of about 19%? I am female. I weight about 210lbs and I'm 5ft 4" (about 161cms). I read that for me to have a healthy percentage it should be about 19%. Or is that wrong?
Body fat percentage? Is there any way to calculate your body fat percentage without one of those belly pincher things? i really want to know if im at a healthy percentage.
What could cause a high percentage of body fat at a low weight? I had my body-fat percentage tested with my general physician, and he guessed beforehand that it would be around 20% or slightly lower, at the healthy weight of 115 lbs. Well, he was shocked when it said my body fat percentage was actually 30%. However, he didn't do anything about it but tell me to lose a few pounds. This was a few months ago, and I've actually gained weight - 10 lbs - since then. I'm a vegetarian and I eat healthy and exercise... but I did start taking birth control which may have caused the weight gain. I'm concerned about my body-fat percentage, however. Although I am at a "healthy weight" 30% body fat is considered obese/unhealthy. I don't look fat, but my health is important! Does anyone know what it could be or what I should do?
How to bring your body fat percentage down? I am 16 and I weigh 129. I know I'm not fat, but I have fat on my body that I don't want. My body fat percentage is really high for someone my age. I don't care about my weight, just my fat percentage. I have fat on my waist, hips, and thighs that I want to get rid off. I know you can't lose fat in a certain spot, but like what kind of foods should I eat. Should I cut calories? What kind of exercise? What exactly makes you lose fat? What is condsidered eating healthier? Does cutting protions really help? What can help me get rid of my fat without getting like a bulky with muscles? I just want to be skinnier all over. I know nothing about dieting or losing weight. Please help me. haha
How can I put on fat in a healthy way? Hey, I want to put on fat, but I want to put on the healthy type of fat. My body fat percentage is 6% so its kind of important I get some fat in my diet. Problem is, I'm very health conscious and I don't want to consume unhealthy food (with salt etc) just to put on weight. Is there a way I can put on healthy fat? Thanks, Steven
Is this body fat healthy? Ugh, alright well I'm 5'6.5 and 123 pounds. I just did this internet test to find body fat percentage based on measurements and stuff. This was my result: http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html It said I have 18.6 % body fat! Is that healthy? I mean I thought I was kinda athletic.. what do you think? I know this question is asked a lot but.. thank you. Oh yeah I'm 14. As of 2 days ago! haha!
Body Fat %? What is the lowest healthy body fat percentage you can have and how can i achive it
I am a wrestler for high school, is 4% body fat healthy for me? i am a wrestler for high school, and this is my 2nd year wrestling, i weigh at 124.6 lbs. and i am 5 feet 9 inches tall. I eat healthy every day, and i am wrestling at the 125 weight class, this is about all i can get to because my body fat percentage is so small. I am happy with these results, they were what i think is the lowest on the whole time... I am a freshman, and i am quite possibly the strongest freshman, and i am not really the best wrestler since it is my second year, but i am hanging in there. The season has just started and i am waiting to see what happens. I just want to know if this is healthy for me to be doing this, I am a very very strong kid for being a freshman. And i also lift weights every day, at least once. I have wrestling practice right after school, and it lasts for 3 hours (at the least) and i have high endurance. I work the hardest i can do, and i am pretty good. When i am in the mood. Why is this not healthy, also... what can i do to make it healthy, this is normal i think for a wrestler, especially as strong, fit, and lean as i am...
Is my body fat percentage too low? I'm a 15 and a half male teenager who is 5" 3' and 103 lbs. I've been to a doctor and he told me my body fat percentage is %2.5. I exercise every day( push ups and sit ups) and I don't eat that healthy all the time. Is this percentage of body fat dangerous for my health?
my body fat percentage is 10% is this bad? I have read that athlete women should not have a body fat percentage that's lower than 20%. When I went to a nutritionist she calculated my body fat for me and it was 11%, thru out highschool and college it's hovered between 10-11& (at highest percent). But yet I am 5'1 and 110 lbs. That leaves me with almost 10 lbs of fat on my body while the rest is muscle mass. Is this bad? I used to be a dancer, and before a gymnast, I've always been small and I feel fine this way. Are there any negatives effects of having too low a body fat % asides from period loss. I get my period as long as I am over 98lbs. Do you think I am healthy??? I was wierded out by the fact that my bdy fat % is so low, I'm small boned + all but I do not look like a refugee at all. Advice would help anyone who knows anythng about what body fat means and what it does to your general health...........THANKS!!
Is it dangerous for a woman to maintain a body fat % of 12%? even if she is at a healthy weight for her height? will it affect her menses or make her periods stop at this percentage of body fat? i'd like to slim down just a bit (and STILL be within my healthy weight range), and tone up to get my BF% below 15%, but i'm afraid it would affect my menstrual cycle or anything else...i was told that most supermodels, swimsuit models, female athletes and ballerinas have stopped getting their periods because of their really low body fat. please advice? i'm not an athlete btw...the most extreme form of sports i've ever done is running lol...i'm also 22, and my periods have always been regular..my BF% is currently at 23%...i wana start hitting the gym and get it down by 10% within the next 8-10 months or so...so i just wanted to know...
What should my body fat percentage be on May 1st? Please only continue with answering if you truly have knowledge in fitness and nutrition. Currently, its 23%. My goal is 16%. Please don't say "Thats too low!!....", its where I was for years and doctors said I was extremely healthy. Anyway, I started running again last week. If I run three miles a day five days a week, could I be at 16% by May 1st? Btw...I eat very clean. No fried or fast food, no soda...not even diet!
how to get body fat percentage down.. about 5-10%? I took my body fat percentage.. and im 23.3%.... im in the fitness/average area... which is good but i wanted to get to atleast 15% or so. i do lots of cardio( indoor cycling,3/4 a week, step classes) and i do pilates and stability ball classes every week) so 5 times a week im active and on weekends i go cross country skiing. I was just wondering am i doing everything right to get that percentage down? and can you give me some hints on how i could spead it up!! thanks Ps: i eat healthy, i consume the regular amount of calories i need and drink lots of water!!
body fat percentage? since people with a lower body percentage have a faster metabolism than people with a higher one, does that mean they can basically eat anything they want with out really gaining any weight? say they have like a 10% body fat, would they be more likely to not gain weight or become fat from eating junk food regulary, but also eating healthy? does having a low BMI mean you have a faster metabolism, or mean you never really have to worry about gaining weight?
Vegetarians and body fat percentage? Hi, I am vegetarian. I think it is a healthier diet than a nonvegetarian one if you are careful (e.g., emulate Jay Kordich, Jack Lalanne, Martina Navratilova, Bill Pearl etc...). My question is that what can I do to reduce my body fat percentage if I prefer to continue not to eat meat (including no chicken and fish, which I consider as meat)? I weigh 175 lbs (great for a guy in his late 20s), but my body fat percentage is 23 -- which I don't like, especially since a lot of the fat is concentrated in the sides of my waist and sides of my lower stomach and chest (and face every time I gain a few pounds of weight). I prefer not to see my total weight fall below 170 lbs, but I really would love to see my body fat percentage got to 17-18 percent. I think I can't make it go to under 15 percent due to genetics.
HELP! I had my bmi tested and it says that i am at 36% body fat!! WHAT!?? A fat girl kim got her bodymassindex and fat percentage right befor me and the woman susan put in "25" as a goal for kims bmi to be(I guess by looking at kim, susan figured she was overweight so she put in the limit of acceptability(26 bmi is overweight) Before i stepped on the scale i put in my age-18,height(5'10.5),and gender. Then susan put in 21 as my bodymasindex goal(b/c i dont look overweight and 21 is normal). Then susan told me my weight was fine for my height. Then when my bmi popped up as 26(overweight) and my %bodyfat popped up as 36.3% susan said"im scared for you. youre body fat is seeverely obese. You have a very bad diet dont you" im like "actually i dont.i eat healthy and work out doing cardio and weight train 3 times a week" susan then said"well i can pinch your stomach and your triceps so youre not doing enough.write down what you eat and DONT lie" WOW I dont get how the fat girl had 34%fat and i had 36%.R these bmi's accurate?do they send electiccurrents thru you and to tallmochagirl yeah well kim doesnt execrise or eat right so if i were you id shut ur mouth. No i dont have issues with comparing myself to others. It was just OBVIOUS that she was fat/overweight and I do not look overweight so I wanted to see if it as accurate..so shutup Do BMI's take into account muscle? AND to tallmocha I have a perfect to low blood pressure and low cholesterol>:-(
body fat percentage question?? since people with a lower body percentage have a faster metabolism than people with a higher one, does that mean they can basically eat anything they want with out really gaining any weight? say they have like a 10% body fat, would they be more likely to not gain weight or become fat from eating junk food regulary, but also eating healthy? does having a low BMI mean you have more muscle?
Body Fat percentage? I am 16 years old and im a male. im on the crew team and we burn many calories and i excercise alot. how much body fat do you think i should have?. A healthy percent but also i dont want to have fat on my arms because im not into the flabby arms im more into the ripped/defined kind of arms. so how much body fat should i have?, how many calories should i eat? and what should i do to get ripped/defined arms?
Conflicting theories about my body composition, someone please help, this is getting old, LOL? My body fat percentage (not my BMI) is 33%, which is just on the line between healthy body fat and overweight. I do plan on losing more weight to get it more into the "safe area" though. When I had my BMI done at a gym I was told I was borderline obese at 30.07% BMI (which came as a huge suprise to me since I'm only a size 10-12!) I'm not sure what to go with, BMI or BFP. I really don't want to lose too much weight since I have a larger frame, I'm pretty muscular and I like being curvier. So anyway, I'm 5'3", measurements are (in inches): Neck:14 Bust:38 Waist:31 Hips:41 and I weigh 159. If someone could shed some light on this I'd be more than happy! BTW, I'm planning on losing approximately 18-20lbs and I work out 6 times a week doing 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of light weight training (I alternate legs, abs etc..depending on the day). My main goal isn't to fit into a size 4 or get skinny but to get my percentages into a healthy range, as well as meet a few fitness goals of mine. I just need to know WHICH measurements are more accurate so I can stick with that one. The 30.07% was done with calipers, but he told me it was to measure BMI, I had even asked him twice if he was sure it was BMI and he said yes and that it made me obese. The 33% came from a body fat percentage calculator on About.com. Sheesh...now I'm even more confused...I only wanna be healthy for pete's sake, LOL.
What is a normal body fat percentage? im a 12 year old girl, im not so much focused on losing weight, just being healthy, i want ot live a long life and i care deeply for my health. are there any tips for getting my body fat down naturally, none of this slim fast quick fix, i dont care if it takes long i just want it to work and be healthy for my body. are there any excercizes i can do, any good foods. i read somewhere that drinking hot water "melts your fat" is this true. I am 12 years, 10 months old 5 ft. 8 3/4 inches tall 143 pounds (slightly embarassed) bust: 36 waist: 31 hips: 36 any other measurements that are needed id be glad to include

Minimum Lean Body Mass Values? Are there minimum lean body mass values for men/women of different heights/builds. I know a healthy body fat percentage is important, but what happens if someone is very underweight due to muscle/bone loss and so their body fat levels still appear normal. There has to be some kind of minimum healthy lean mass value right?
Just a theory regarding body fat? Don't you think that body fat percentage is a better way to predict a person's health than their weight? Because at x weight and y height three people could have varying degrees of health, healthy, overweight and perhaps even needing to put on some weight. I'm trying to form a theory to help when I become a PA- any insight would be of great help!
How to drop my body fat percentage? I currently do weights approx 5 times per week, and cardio maybe once a week. Im approx 176pounds or 80kilos and 6ft. I eat a high protein diet, and dont eat to many carbs, i also eat fairly healthy. I am in fairly good shape but just cant seem to cut a small percentage of fat laying under my nipple area and small amount on my abdomen. I dont want to increase cardio to much and lose any lean muscle that i have gained from my last year and half of training.
body fat too low? How low is too low for body fat? What are the dangers if an otherwise healthy (active, muscular) persons body fat percentage is too low?
fat percentage test? a group of us went to the gym today and we did a test where they can tell you your bodyfat percentage everyone had a normal percentage apart from me and my brother my body fat percentage was 1% and my brothers was 0% why was our percentages so low? were both perfectly healthy and not skinny or anything
How do I build muscle, and also lose body fat? I am wondering, and serious here, how to build up muscle, and also lower my body fat percentage. I have been going to the gym for 2 years now, and been doing weight training for about 8 months. I have not gained any muscle, well, just a tiny tiny bit, but my friend who I go with have gotten massive. We do the same program, but he easts heaps of take away and junk food, where as I eat healthy, and follow a fairly good diet. I am also having trouble losing body fat, which I have been trying to do all year, and have not even moved half a kilo! I have also been on protein shakes for the past few months, with still no success. I weigh 72Kg, and 177cm tall, with a body fat percentage of 17%, which is pretty high for a guy. Any suggestions of what to do? I go to the gym 4-5 times a week, and do approx. 30 minutes of cardio (running, bikes, rower) each time. I spend approx. 1 - 1 and a half hours at gym a day.

How do I reduce body fat? ok so here are my stats im a 12 year old female im 5' 9" (ya i know im reeeely tall) i weigh 147 pounds (id like to change that) my body fat percentage is 35%, wich is pretty high, i would like to get that down to below 30% at least, i would actually like to aim for about 25% body fat i am fine with weighing more or less as long as the body fat decreases because i understand that gaining muscle means gianing weight because muscles have mass i want to do this in a safe, healthy way no hoodia, diet pills, slim fast, protein shakes i live near seattle (idk if that helps) please any safe, healthy, no gimmick tips would be very much appreciated personally i would like to have my body fat down before swimsuit season rolls around, so like may
why do people focus on weight? when body fat percentage is more important? i am technically overweight, but i have a perfectly healthy body fat percentage. i don't understant the obsession, some people are just heavier to begin with, more muscle, or denser bones. for a female, as long as your body fat percentage is below 30% it is healthy and i meant healthwise, i should've been more specific i don't care about the looks aspect i'll never understand how someone can put looks before health if someone is healthy, they look good to me, regardless of weight i agree, the bmi is total crap
Increase body fat!? I'm recovering from anorexia, and I am VERY athletic, doing daily gym workouts of at least 100 mins plus loads of walking and jogs. I do lots of cardio and strength training, and have found that as I've gained weight while recovering, the weight has been all muscle, and I've continued to lose body fat (which is currently at about 8%). I need to increase my body fat percentage to get my periods back and I don't know how to do this!! Please help! All the info out there on gaining weight tells you how to gain muscle and lose fat - I need some fat....although I'm really worried that any fat I gain will go straight to my stomach - i've heard this happens to people recovering from eating disorders..... I eat a healthy and balanced diet now (I just have to eat loads because i need to gain weight and I'm so active) - any advice would be really appreciated!!!!
Help with mantaining body fat, getting fitter and building muscle.? At the moment my body fat percentage is 12.2%. I'm a fifteen year old girl and I know it's bad? I definately don't want it any lower but I want to mantain it/ make it higher to a healthy range. The thing is I have been training for half a marathon (about 21 km and can be easily ran in under 2 hours) and have I been gradually loosing weight/body fat. How do I mantain my current body fat / weight while doing about a 10-12 km run per day (slowly increasing this also). Would I also be loosing muscle mass ? Would I still be able to gain or mantain if I continue with my muscle training.
