what exactly is water weight?
i understand that its when your body retains stuff from foods that take longer to digest, and it can make you gain pounds on the scale but not actual fat gain, i dunno if thats right... But how come when i pig out a bit, I gain a bunch of weight and lose it in afew days when i eat normal again.. this isnt fat its water weight right? Well how come my pants get tighter/baggier when i lose it and gain it, if it isnt body fat? anyone understand? yes you explained what water weight is thanks :P but if its only water weight im gaining/losing why do my pants feel tighter/baggier when i do so? does it bloat your body or something to cause this?

- Your metabolism is the bio-mechanical process that breaks food down and turns it into energy. In a nutshell, it consumes calories. Since metabolism is your best ally in the frontline against weight, you want it to be working at full speed. Water is the fuel that drives metabolism's chemical reactions. So, if you're not drinking enough, you won't burn as many calories as you can Your weight loss will slow right down. This is because about 2.5 litres of water is naturally lost through daily bodily functions such as going to the loo and sweating. If you don't replenish this water you'll soon become dehydrated, and your metabolism will be among the first to shut down. So, if you're dieting and you can't seem to shift the weight, perhaps it's because you aren't drinking enough water. Your digestion will suffer. Water is essential for digestion and elimination. Poor digestion means you won't be absorbing the goodness from your food. Your body in turn will send up signals (read: cravings) for food that has minerals your body lacks. You'll feel 'fake' hunger. When dehydrated, your body sends out the same signals that prompt you to eat and you may end up answering that response with food. Water will not only curb those hunger pangs, but it will fill you up. You won't get the full benefit of exercise. Your metabolism increases with exercise, and as we mentioned earlier, water is essential to maximise your metabolism. Drink plenty of water before, during and after your workout
- I don't quite follow you question, but I know what is water weight. 1 litre of water weight 1 kg. You can easily check by weighing an empty cup, and then the same cup filled with water. Then to get only water weight you just have to subtract the weight of cup with water from the one without. Anyway, I know it is not an answer to your question:)
- The human body contains a huge amount of water. If you diet... the first 14lbs of weight loss is water... then it's fat. Be very careful that you don't do it on your own because any change in metabolism can be dangerous. Your thyroid could go ape!!
- We are made up of 70% water so even if you do not pig out you can carry it, just think of a river which swells in the summer. What I think that you are doing when you 'pig out' is carbing up, its what body builders do just before a contest so that their muscles fill out,.
