The best way to lose body fat?
Ok so im 15 and i measured my stomach and its 32.5. That may seem small, but i have a little stomach that really bothers me. I am starting to run about 3 miles everyday over the summer to hopefully get a healthier body and a FLAT stomach and maybe even a 6 pac. Are there any other suggestions on how to get a nice body? Also, if you could estimate..how long would it take to get a nice body?

- How long it takes is dependent on your own dieting and work out habits, as well as your genetic makeup. For one, if you really want to reach your goals, you need to start with a good diet. Complex carbohydrates, lean proteins, and limit the fats, especially saturated fats. Try to eat 5-6 small meals a day. For working out, try and target your abs with a couple hundreds crunches a day every other day. The key is hitting them constantly, meaning at least 3 times a week. You can also mix in bicycle crunches and other ab techniques. For cardio, I'd recommend mixing in "HIIT" or high intensity interval training. Basically, try doing something like jogging at a low intensity for two minutes, then increase it to medium intensity for 30 seconds, then high intensity for 30 seconds, then back to low intensity. Doing this for 20-30 minutes is an EXCELLENT way of keeping your heart rate up and burning fat.
- i really cant tell how long it will take as you didnt post your weight...but here are some stuffs that definitely work- 1. dont bank on the words 'fast','easy','simple' & 'quick'....to stay safe, you shoudnt lose beyond 3 pounds of fat per week 2. start brisk walking 40-60mins a day...get a dog or 2 if you find your walking routine boring..or if you are at a gym, experiment all forms of cardio available and stick to all that you like 3. drink only water,100% natural/fresh fruit/veggie juices, lowfat milk and lots of green tea 4. severely limit carbs n fat but eat lean proteins and veggies very well..make sure you eat a good breakfast!foods generally that aid fat loss- fruits, oatmeal, milk, raw nuts, fish, beans, veggies, small chunks of dark chocolate and herbal teas. 5. do adequate amounts of pilates/yoga/strength training to get the best from your cardio, make slight adjustments to your workout routines every 2 or 3 weeks to avoid plateaus 6. be smart when eating out or at events/functions(such as preparing your own meal & eating in advance) 7. dont trust myths like "no food after 7pm"...you have to stay nourished to lose fat,..the best you can do if you are scared to eat is perhaps drink a glass of ice chocolate lowfat milk mixed with a tsp of instant softened oatmeal... 8. Always push yourself n never give up!but get enough rest too...Stay focused on your goal and God bless you...
- What the first poster said is right on target, couldn't have said it better! However, I'll elaborate a little further, I hope you find my advice useful! DIET is the definitely the MOST important part of losing body fat and getting that six pack you desire. Kiss fast food goodbye! Be sure to watch your carbs, and if you ingest them, make sure they are of high quality (read: easy to break down). Instead of white bread, for example, use 12-grain bread. Also, instead of empty-calorie snacks like chips and such...try snacking on almonds, fruit, and lean deli meats (chicken & turkey). Try to have some protein with every meal, breakfast being vital...I usually eat 4 egg whites and hot Quaker Oats topped with frozen mixed berries, give that a try! Lastly, whey protein shakes are vital supplements for those who work out, try to drink one either before and/or after a workout. As for exercise, intervals are typically recommended for burning fat, as they burn the calories without burning lean muscle mass (as I've read). Here's a few more suggestions, as I like to mix things up: -A bodybuilder friend additionally suggested doing 35-45 minutes on the treadmill at a steep incline going about 4.5 in speed. -Try additional forms of cardio that train different muscles: rowing machines are great for your entire body, with more focus on your back and core muscles. When he sun's out, swimming laps will work out muscles that you may have thought were in great shape...but you'll soon learn otherwise! Remember, you won't see those abs unless your body fat % is low enough...you can do all the crunches in the world, but if your body fat level is too high, those abs will never show!!! Have a trainer measure your body fat with calipers, that should give you an idea where you're at and where you need to be. For example, typically those below 10% body fat will see their abs show. As for the length of time it will take, it depends on your body fat % and the amount of work you put in. Most people see noticeable results in six weeks, however. Last but not least...stick to a consistent plan! Be unreasonable with yourself, no compromises! Most people quit a new workout/diet routine after 2-3 weeks. However, if you maintain a consistent, healthy diet and a normal workout routine (try 4-6 times per week), and stick to it for more than six weeks...you should see results! Good luck!
- having a nice body takes more than just doing cardio exercises. a large part of it also involves a change in eating habits. it may take sometime to get rid of that little stomach you're talking about 'cause thats the part where fat is stored and hardest to get rid off. a good nutrition plan plus cardio and resistance training is the surest way to get a nice body. if you put effort on these you'll see results in 6 to 8 months.
- The best way to lose weight , get a healthy body , a flat stomach or maybe even a 6 pack is to follow the correct program. You need a good balance excellent nutrition and a weight training program that will work to remove that little bit of extra fat. The combination of exercise and the correct amount of food (types of foods like protein, carbs and fat are not all the same) will help you get the results you want, you are just a bout getting on track but may need to reduce the amount of starchy carbs (whole wheat bread). There are lots of programs to follow that make it oh so simple. I got mine with this programme http://www.sixpackseeker.com
