Need to lose 5 pounds in 10 days?
I am a healthy person, and I consider myself at a healthy weight. However, the military says I need to be 149, and I am 154. I have been working out and eating well for 3 months, but no change. I absolutely need help as to how to lose the weight, even if it is water weight. I leave for boot camp in 10 days, and if my weight isn't 149, I can't leave. I am in shape, and well within requirements for my 1 1/2 mile, push ups, sit ups, etc. I should mention that I am on my second ship date (Navy, not Army) because I was 1.5 pounds overweight and they rolled me back... I only got down to within about 2 pounds because I didn't eat anything for 6 days prior. I did not pass my body fat percentage because they said my neck's circumference is abnormally small compared to the rest of my body. I would have passed if they did an electronic test instead. I just can't seem to make that scale fall.

- Its not healthy, but over the counter laxatives will give you a rapid dehydration and weight loss. Not a good plan if you need energy or a good immune system. It will drain both. But it will drop weight for a short-term result.
- 8 glasses of water a day Salads with very light dressing....use olive oil. NO starch at all.....no bread, no crackers, no pasta. ONLY eat protein ... i.e. skin less chicken or beef. keep it down to 2 meals a day....max.
- 1-2 pounds a week is healthy 5 pounds in 10 day that is very unhealthy and if you do lose it that fast it will all come back plus more. not eating a all will put your body in a starvation mode and then it will turn everything you eat into fat. You asked this question before and you getting the same answers
- i hear that hollywood diet drink works wonders.
- ooh..they are hard to please aren't they?? best way is total cut out all carbs.just eat proteins ..it's not healthy..but its a great fast way to make the scale go down..
- hello drink a lot of waterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
- Fast. Fasting will produce sure weight loss. It will also reset your set point weight or clean out your system. Just drink at least 8 8oz. glasses of distilled water. If you don't think you can fast then eat nothing but lean protein. For example one or two scrambled eggs for breakfast. Homemade hamburger patty with lettuce, tomato, onion, and dill pickles. Mustard is OK no mayo for lunch. Baked, poached, steamed, broiled or roasted chicken (remove all skin before eating), steamed broccoli with lemon juice splashed on for dinner. Snack of 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese with a diet diet sugar stirred in. Drink only distilled water. You can add lemon or lime juice. You can do it! You are about to change your life going into the service. Oh, by the way if you do deceide to fast for ten days, when you come off the fast you MUST come off of it slowly. A little cottage cheese with some toast and jello and chicken broth for a few days.
- Rice, fat free refried beans, fat free milk (no more than half a gal. each day), veg. and fruits, multi-vitamin. Muscle weighs more than fat so try to walk or bike a lot. Don't try to gain extra muscle just walk off the extra pounds. Try to get some more fiber in your diet (for a short time at least). Use the restroom before they check your weight.
- You can do it by doing a fat fast, a form of low carb dieting, but I'd speak to your physician first.... http://www.low-carb.com/atarfatfa.html This is an extreme measure that is part of the Atkins weight-loss plan for people who are metabolically resistant to losing weight. In the article it does mention that it can be dangerous for anyone who can lose weight on the regular Atkins plan. Personally, I think you can lose the 5 lbs. if you just follow Atkins Induction for the 10 days. I lose slowly and prior to Atkins never lost this quickly. During Induction I lost 4 lbs. in 7 days followed by another 3 lbs. the second week. I've been on Atkins for three years and lost 70 lbs. in nine months and have maintained my loss.
