body fat scale reviews

Confused about calories!! they say you need to burn 3500 kcal to lase a pound?

I read somewhere that you need to burn 3500 calories to lose a pound, but when a eat 200 calories less than usual I lose about a pound, there are nothing wrong with the scales because I weigh myself on several different ones just to be sure, and I have a body fat monitor so I know I'm not just loosing water or muscle mass, I drink about 8 glasses of water each day and I usualy weigh about 8.5 stone but if one day for one reason for another I eat a couple of hundred calories less than usaual, I drop like a pound and my clothes are looser and everything, and I don't have a particularly fast metabolism,I would like to stop this because It's wierd and means I have very little control over my weight.i am 20 years old and 5"6.5

  1. I think you're obsessing about your weight. Calm down. You have to burn 3,500 calories to lose 1 pound, unless you do a thermogenic diet like Kimkins. You can temporarily lose 1 pound for any number of reasons including bloat, bowel evacuation, etc. If you didn't lose fat, then then it returns. It must be returning or you'd be at goal weight already. Pick a good diet that you like and follow the rules. You'll lose more slowly but then you can have the "control" that you want.
  2. Wow! Did your question bring back memories of when I was 20, and also too fixated on my body. I ended up ,more or less, being anorexic before it was even a known term. What brought me out of it was a total stranger ...I was in a grocery store looking at the diet books when he came up to the book rack, He looked at me with the strangest expression on his face, and said "If you're thinking of going on a diet, you are out of your ever-lovin' mind!" With that said , he turned and walked away...didn't even look for his book. I don't know why I took his words to heart, but I did...I think he may have saved my life that day...I really did think I was way too heavy.. 5'2" and 87LB. What I'm trying to say is this...Take it slowly. You are wonderful just the way you are..You are one of a kind..put your focus on your good points, believe me, most people are to hung up on THEIR own short-comings, to even take notice of what you think are yours. I wasted a lot of my youth thinking I wasn't thin enough, or pretty enough, or witty enough to have anyone like me...Now I find out that ones looks are not what is important.. Life is not at the end of our time here on Earth- it is the adventures we have all along the way. Perfection doesn't exist in nature so your not going to reach it in yourself either. It's the imperfections that create the beauty.. take , for example, a clear crystal..if perfect, it would just be clear glass- no more special than a 1000 clear windows.. But that same crystal with a small fault, or inclusion ,why it sparkles like the stars! Imbrace your imperfections- what ever they are, --get out and LIVE.. take risks, learn to laugh at yourself., have fun, enjoy the incredable journey you are on...we never know how long a ride it will be! You will find that when you stop fixating on your weight, (throw out that scale) the extra pounds will just leave on their own. Picture yourself at your goal weight, imagine just how you will be dressed, just what you'll be doing, and honestly, before you know it ...you WILL be that girl. It's called 'positive imagry' and it works! Invision the life you want to have, and soon it will all be yours. Treat yourself gently...it can all be yours but for the price of an effort. Sorry, I'm sort of a rambler today...but hay, my other car is a cadilac!! ( Oh, if you really need to weigh, try doing it only once a week.. same day/time each week. Our weights fluctuate way to much for a reading every day. And diet-- don't cut out foods..everything in moderation. If you deny yourself a favorite food, you are bound to rebel eventually, and eat way way to much. My best 'diet' is two bites of everything in the house ( the 1st tastes the same as the last so you don't need all the rest in between). I'm a 'grazier', I eat all day long. If one eats 100 calories every hour for 10 to11 hours you end up with a reasonable amount , but not too many AND you get to eat ALL day long. My kind of heaven. By the way, it was that phrase About not having 'control' over your weight ', that set me off. That is the essance of anorexia--the control. You have total control of All of you, Your mind controls all that IS you..you decide to be happy- then you are...you decide to love and then you do. When we change the way we look at things, then the things we look at change. You are God's perfection as you are.We are all just as we were meant to be.
  3. DO not ever try any pills. Don't mess with your health. Diet pills can affect your heart and do some serious damage. The moviestar diet is a scam. All these diets that sound too good to be true...ARE to good to be true. There is no good diet if it says it is fast. You gain it all back and double. Be wise please. You can try www.sparkpeople.com It is a healthy way to lose weight. You type in how much you want to lose and by when etc...and they plan out your meals so you can achieve your goal. They have a calorie counter and everything. Plus they give you a fitness plan according to what type of exercising you like to do. The exercises can be done at home like dumbells, resistance bands & ball. You can also choose from walking, jogging,or a home video. There's many different options. It's like having a nutritionist and it is free. You also have support from the members. A real neat site. I'm quite impressed. Enjoy! God Bless!
