i have a scale that also tests body fat% how accurate is the fat %?

1. To be honest, I don't think it's very accurate. I have heard that the scales work by measuring water weight in the body - although I admit that I don't know how this is done exactly. Go to a local gym or wellness facility and ask for body fat percentage testing using calipers - they measure fat at different parts of the body, and are more accurate.
