On a scale that measures body fat can it confuse extra skin for fat?

I lost 140 pounds and am stuck with some extra skin. I am 6, 1 or 2 almost at 2. Went from 290 to 150

1. When calipers measure the amount of fat, the skin is pinched up. It measures the thickness of the fat under the skin, not the amount of skin.
