are body fat percentages on scales accuarate?
i am 5'2 and my scale says i weight 123 and my body fat percentage is 26% is this accuarte should i lose weight? i am a medium frame by the way. what other ways can i find my body fat percentage? are online bmi calculaters accurate?

- Whaat i don't know i don't know how any scale can know your body fat just from your weight. You need at the very least a cloth tape measurer to measure various body parts, better is a body fat caliper, and best is a water tank displacement test
- Not particularly accurate, callipers are better. I use the accu-measure ones. That said at 5ft2 at 123lb, unless you are muscular or large framed 26% body fat sounds pretty average. I'm 5ft2, 125lb at 24% body fat and that's from working out with weights for the last 1-2 years! That said I was like 130lb and 30% body fat when I started....eek. Female Body Fat Chart: Underfat: <12% Athletic: 14%-18% Optimal: 20%-24% Average: 26%-28% Overfat: 30%-32% Obese: >34% Hope this helps.
