How can i calculate my percentage of body fat?
Im 15, male, 6 ft tall and weight 72 kg's. I read somewhere that in order to start training for abdominal muscles you should get down to 10% or less body fat. How can i calculate this and see where im at?

- Many gyms should be able to do it for a nominal fee. Some doctors might be able to do it for you.
- you can't. all you can do is get your BMI from that info but that's not the same thing nor is it as efficient. like the other guy said, they usually have electro analyzer thingies at gyms or even a caliper. of course the only real accurate way is through a buoyancy test or whatever but those are expensive. btw what the hell are you reading? there's no certain percentage you need just to work your abs... unless you meant in order to be able to see them through your skin...
- How to calculate body fat percentage? There is a good body fat range for everyone, with this answer, you can figure out your own body fat percentage without having to see the doctor! 1. Keep in mind that when you are trying to lose weight, the amount of fat you are carrying on your body is more important than your actual weight. If you are heavy, but most of that weight is muscle, it doesn't mean you are fat at all. However, if you are considered "small" or "light" but you have a high body fat percentage, you are still risking your health! 2. Start by writing down your current weight in pounds, no lying, no one is going to see this but you. Now you need to multiply your weight by 703, this will give you a very large number, at least 5 digits. 3. Now you need to write down your height in inches, again don't exaggerate. Multiply your height in inches by itself, this will give you a number that is at least 4 digits long. 4. To find out your Body Fat Percentage you will take your first number ( weight x 703) and divide your second number ( height in inches x 703) into that. The ending result should be a one to two digit number possible followed by a decimal place or two. 5. So if you weigh 135 your first number would look something like this: 135 x 703 = 94,905 and if you are 5' 7'' (67 inches) then your second number would look like this: 67 x 67 = 4,489. To get your percentage of fat you are going to take 94,905/ 4,489 = 21.14. So this means that you are at a 21% body fat level. 6. To become more healthy, and reduce the size of your body, you will want to reduce this percentage rather your weight.
- Random boy, You seem to be very muscular for a 6ft tall guy, of 72 kgs. Its a BMI rating, and a doctor or gym trainer should be able to help you there. So start at the gym and see what advice and exercise they can suggest for your requirements. You seem to be well on your way I would have thought already.
