Is a body fat scale accurate?
I bought a 50$ body fat scale and it showed me 13% but the computer says 11- 11.5 i checked about 10 sites. Im wondering which is more accurate and if there is a good site for body fat measuring please let me know. thanks

- Scales and computer things don't work because it doesn't measure your muscle, bone and water mass... So it's all false. The best way is to ask your doctor to measure ( or the gym )
- I have one of those scales and I don't think it's terribly accurate. If I weigh myself, then drink a few cups of water, it makes my weight go up and the scale tells me my body fat percentage is higher... It should be lower since more of my weight is water... I think 99% of my scale's calculation is based on height and weight, and not sure how much the electronic pads actually measure fat content... Other ways to estimate body fat involve using calipers to pinch and measure fat under the skin in various places (need to learn to do it right), or immersing in water and doing some crazy weight/volume measures. Either way 11-13% sounds like you are on the thin side. I'd focus more on fitness goals at that point than a specific body fat number. If you are female, you may stop having periods (if you haven't already) if you go much lower.
