Pounds of fat to lose 5 percent body fat?
I'm 6'5", weigh 197, and bought one of those scales that reads body fat levels. It put me at 13.2 which seems pretty accurate, and I want to get down to 7 or 8%. Does anyone have any way of estimating about how many pounds of fat I'd need to lose to get to, we'll say 8% body fat?

- what i did to get down to 6% was run my ass off, eat lean meats like chicken and fish and what not i dont advise trying to lose body gat and gaining muslce at the same time... because its damn near impossible for your body to try to lose and gain weight at the same time...
- i did weigh 197, when i started by diet i got told 10% of my body weight was 16 pounds. so just below that, id say about a stone (14 pounds)
- Let's do a little math here. 197lbs, 13.2% bodyfat 197 * .132 = 26.004, which means that you have 26lbs of fat on you now. Assuming you want to stay the same weight (197lbs) and drop your bodyfat to 8%, take 197*.08 = 15.76, which would mean you'd have 15.76lbs of fat at 197lbs, 8% bodyfat. Therefore, you'd have to lose a little more than 10lbs of fat, and then add a little more than 10lbs of muscle to achieve that. Hope that helps. The math gets a little more involved if you want to gain/lose weight from where you are at now.
