best way to estimate body fat percentage for sports?
any sort of online calculators that are at least a little bit accurate?without the need for calipers etc? would be very useful to monitor it...

- Take regular pictures of yourself. It is the best bet. End of the day you would want to see how your body look like. Do it every two weeks. Online calculators doesnt really work. Even if you use calipers, it does not imply the performance for your sports as well.
- There some handheld impedance monitors that can semi accurately measure your bodyfat when the height and weight are entered. Also, there are some that use spectrophotometry.
- There is a great simple body fat calculator at http://www.build-muscle-and-burn-fat.com/body-fat-calculator.html It uses the US Navy formulas to calculate body fat percentage. You just enter your gender, units of measure, and the distance around you neck and waist to caluclate body fat percentage. The calculations are relatively accurate. Obviously, they are not as accurate as calipers or other, more difficult/expensive ways to estimate, but, as they say, it is "close enough for government work!" :)
