How do I lose weight efficiently at my fitness level?

Hi. So I weigh 118-120 lbs. Wrestling started two weeks ago and I have been trying to get down to 112 lbs. So 3 days before a match last week I was pretty much starving and sweating myself like crazy. I still didn't make weight. I was 113.9 lbs but they gave me a pound allowance, but that still made me .9 lbs over. They still allowed to wrestle. So now I am back up to 118 lbs because I returned to eating 3 meals a day. I don't eat any obvious junk food such as chips and pop. But my problem is that everytime I cut weight and eat minimally, I feel light-headed and I have very low energy. What can I do to safely and efficiently lose weight so I can be at optimal strength at 112 lbs? To give you a better overview, I am 5'6", 118 lbs and my percent body fat is 7.5%. I checked this fat loss calculator and it said that with my weight and body fat, I can only afford to lose .64 lbs in fat. Help?

  1. Eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 meals. Drink a glass of water before you eat, this helps it so your tummy feels more full, and it helps you lose alot of weight. Stay away from all fast food and sodas. Try adding veggies and fruits, lean meat, rice and pasta to your meals.
  2. you have to drop water weight to make the weight class. you already stated the problem with that. it leaves you light headed and depleted.. if i were you, i would put more effort into weight training, technique training, and cardio conditioning, and less time into sweating away pounds of water, which robs you of strength.. wrestle in the weight class your body is meant to be in.. it is a safer practice for your body and if you train right, you will be stonger at that weight, making up for any advantage of sweating down for the lighter weight class.
