body fat scale reviews

Nationality, Faith, and Fat. Can anyone help with my question?

In a recent issue of Rolling Stone magazine (4/6, page 51), a comment was made about an American Idol contestant, saying "It's comforting to have an Idol contestant who represents the majority of Americans: fat and religious." Granted, I only read RS because a former roomate never changed his address and his issues show up here, but I wonder if this is a fair characterization of Americans. If you feel comfortable doing so, can you post your nationality, faith, and BMI (Body Mass Index), which is a fair representation of an individual's weight? Here is a link to a BMI calculator: http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/adult_BMI/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.htm For the record, I am American, atheist, and have a BMI of 23. Can the faithful and faithless come forward and prove this statement wrong (or right?) I don't have much faith, but it's been an hour and I do have faith that you can do better than that. Let's see some results. Listen, I'm not saying I agree with this, just that this is the stereotype with which Americans seem to be viewed (even from within sometimes.)

  1. ........
  2. I am American, also atheist and also have a BMI of 23. So far, they are wrong.
  3. you dont need bmi's to answer this question: Just go to any local church and look at who fills the seats. Are all religious people fat? Are all religious people skinny? I have been in a few churches in my day; All I have witnessed was a mixture of different BMI's I think that the statement was stereotypical in nature. thank you,
  4. I am an American, born and bred. I am a Christian My BMI is 22.5--normal
  5. American christian, BMI-23 stereotypes are ridiculous.
  6. American, agnostic, BMI 21.8 WP, I know where you are coming from....just wanted to say I don't think fatness has anything to do with religion...but that's just my POV.
  7. I'm a white, overweight atheist. Thanks for your comment on my last question.
  8. I'm a white, Christian, farm-raised hard-working adult male with a BMI of 24.8 which is on the top end of 'normal' but it's not fat that pushes it up that high for me.
  9. well... they said "majority of americans" not "all"... so... its not entirely stereotypical...
  10. My score is 19..But I do not live in America, I live in Australia. I am a spiritualist. Fun to work out though. Thanks for the link. I do believe that the statement that was made is correct though. The majority of the worlds population is quite obese and everybody seems to be waring over religion. We should all be able to believe in what we want to believe in. And every body for their own health sake should start exercising and eating healthy foods. Stay away from the fast foods and televisions.
  11. I am Italian, BMI of just about 20 and I'm an Atheist. Interesting question ;)
