cholestrol, body fat index and BMI??

hi everyone, I am confused about soemthing. My cholestrol level is HDL 36 on a 35-80 reference range LDL 67 on 0-110 reference range My fat index is 36% BMI is 23. Shouldnt I have a lesser fat index % considering my cholestrol level? dont they both tell you the same thing in different readings? Also my doc. says i should only be concerned about my BMI which is fine. BUt i am really worried about my fat index which wouldnt lessen no matter how hard i workout and control my carb intake. Anyway, how does the mechanism of the fat index measuring devices work? Are they reliable? Can you explain what fat index vs cholestrol level is? thanx

  1. I know that a thin body does not automatically means a healthy body. And BMI is just a measure of healthy weight for sedentary people. So it makes other health indicators such as cholesterol, triglycerides, percentage body fat and blood pressure important. Eat healthily with lots of veggies, lean meat and complex carbs and exercise. Brisk Walking will help you burn body fats. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year. Even though I am Asian BMI 21, I still take blood tests to ensure good health. Details such as my blood test (in "How I get there - to Optimal Health, Optimal Weight"), my experience, meals, recipes, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog
