what is the fastest way to lose 40 pounds?
i have been setting records in swimming for 4 years with a huge fatty body. i was curious how much faster i would go if i lost 40 pounds. i want to lose the weight as fast as possible so i can break another record. maybe a water diet??? remember, i has to be the FASTEST way possible (2 - 4 months) i am currently 6' 2'' and 205lbs. i am 14 years old so this huge weight thing is getting annoying. btw, my body fat index is like 15%

- Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both. - It doesn't sound like it would be healthy for you to lose weight at your age, height, and bmi. I think you should go see your doctor before you do anything that could cause you physical harm... you may cause irreparable damage and you certainly don't want that. You can always make sure that you're eating healthy and exercising regularly which it sounds like you do if you're swimming. I really think you ought to see a doctor before starting anything.
- I would think that any FAST weight loss would be unhealthy and degrade your swimming skills. Any benefit from the weight loss to you swimming, would be vastly outweighed by the loss of energy and physical fitness.
- find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose. eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours) 5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day 8 glasses of water have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily. ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
