  1. its muscle course if you have a 6 pack. muscle weighs more then fat :]
  2. Get a bodyfat scale to determine your actual bodyfat percentage.
  3. overweight
  4. Sounds like its mostly muscle
  5. Your muscle. My sisters son in 9th grade can lift 160 and he's strongest in his class. You are strong.
  6. sweetie thats called MAJOR MUSCLE. look at these words carefully.. WEIGHT DOESNT MATTER AT ALL. you know why? you dont know whats muscle or not..you dont know how much your as* or boobs are..it all adds up. it doesnt make a difference
  7. no your health keep up the good work
  8. That's not a question to ask over the net. Speak about it to your doctor and ask his opinion.
  9. its just muscle its the same way 4 me
  10. a bmi index is not accurate for people who are very muscular. My advice is to get a skin fold caliper test to give you a more accurate reading of your body fat % If you can see your abs then I can tell you you're already at 10% or lower body fat, which is quite healthy.
  11. i think your just fat
  12. if you want that 8 pack then cut carbs
  13. its muscle, and to get rid of body fat drink a lot of water and do cardio activities, and keep up with the running
  14. try shaping everyday and start eating healthy food like veggies. Also drink milk everyday it makes you stronger help your muscles grow. Also that isn't overweighted. A 6th grade girl weighs about 220 pounds but shows no body fat in any way. But a guy who shows body fat weighs about 120 pounds.
  15. muscle weighs more than fat. My guess is it is muscle. You shouldn't be so focused on your physical appearance. Be happy with your 6 pac. At 14 though I really don't think that is even necessary. Keep up the exercise,it's good for you
  16. you aren't overweight...just keep up the good work.
  17. The internet BMI calculator doesnt measure your body mass by what you actually look like. Your Best bet is to do one of those water body fat calculators if your really concerned. But if you do have a six pack and are healthy youve got nothing to worry about. You are probably not fat at all. Just very muscley.
  18. slimming6
  19. Watch Pen and Teller BS episode on "Obesity". BMI was invented by a statician between 1830 and 1850 by Adolphe Quetelet who had no intention of telling people what they should weigh. It takes no account of important factors like muscle mass or cardio fitness. It has very little value as an indicator of health and should be ignored as such. Your best bet to determine real fitness level is a test where you exorcise while your oxygen and carbon dioxide levels are measured and a blood test to measure various levels of hormones, blood cells, and cholesterol. Plenty of "strong" people drop dead because they weren't actually healthy.
  20. sorry but it sounds like your fat you may have an over large stomach or a very slow metabolism u also may have diabetes because my friend has diabetes and he's active and is really over weight and it really isn't that odd
  21. DOES IT REALLY MATTER? Do you look overweight? Probably not. Are you in bad shape? Apparently not. So why would you think that you are overweight? And if you are, why the fu*k would it matter, since you are the "fastest person in your class" anyway? lay off the MTV, kid.
  22. The BMI index is not totally accurate and is used as a general indication. BMI was originally formulated for use with dogs and is used because the actual methods for accurate weight mass diagnosis are very expensive and require more equipment. There are some high end health clubs that have the equipment and of course Xray techniques are also reliable. Just from what you are describing I wouldn't say you were overweight.
  23. one way to tell if your muscles are covered in fat is after exerising until you sweat - put your hand on the area of question - cold to touch - fat - hot/warm - muscle, not fat ... that's not to immediately say you are fat and the BMI index thing doesn't account for everything so it's not absolute right or wrong.
  24. Well, obviously your not fat if you can tell that you have a six pack. I'm sure it's just muscle. But if you want to lose more weight, then try eating more fruits and Vegetables. Or maybe crunches and sit-ups?
  25. BMI is not all that accurate for people who are very short, very tall, or very athletic. From what you wrote, it sounds like you are not overweight, or fat at all. If you want to tone up a bit more, try running more- 1 mile is equivalent to 7-15 minutes of cardio, and that is too little. You need to get about 30 minutes of cardio (walking/ hard work around the house also count) a day. BTW, your BMI is 25.1, which is just a tad above the normal range, so I wouldn't worry too much, especially because you are male, and you are still very young
