I just checked my BMI, and Im 0.9 points from being overweight. How is that possible?

I just had my body fat checked and Im 4.7%, my doctor said I need to gain more weight. Im a runner, so I burn alot of calories each week.

  1. The BMI isn't always accurate, ESPECIALLY if you're muscular. The muscle weighs more than fat. Trust what your doctor says.
  2. muscle weighs more than fat.
  3. Because BMI doesn't take into account muscle mass. Clearly you are a very muscular guy, which is why you weigh more yet have a very low body fat.
  4. BMI is only a ratio of weight to height. it does not take into account people who are very muscular.
