Body fat percentage?
How come a person having lower body weight and same height has more body fat percentage than a person with more weight and same heights? One of my mates is 5.7 ,125 lbs,25% body fat.I am 5.7 170 lbs,14 % body fat.

- Muscle weighs more than fat. You weigh more = you have more muscle mass.
- It depends how much of their weight consists of either fat or muscle. Since muscle weighs more, a more muscular person would weigh more but have a lower body fat percentage.
- Because muscle weighs more than fat... With this being said, you're probably leaner and you have more muscle. Your mate is shorter with less muscle. I think this pretty much explains it. =) Make sense?
- Because it depends on how much of that body weight is muscle/bone and how much is body fat. Clearly your friend who has 25% body fat has a very small body frame for his height and not a lot of muscle mass, where as you probably have a lot of muscle mass and a heavier/larger body frame. 1cc of muscle/bone weighs a lot more than 1cc of fat. HTH : )
