Lowest body fat percentage?????
So right now I weigh 144.5 , Im 5"8 and 26.2 % body fat. i want to get rid of a lot of weight and body fat, and i want my abs to show through, but i know that only people with very low body fat has that happen, so whats the lowest reasonable body fat percentage for me ( female) i could get to without it looking like im a starving third world person?

- About 20%. Any lower, and you get into serious athlete territory. 20-25% is considered healthy for females. Keep in mind that about 10% is breasts.
- I've gotten down to about 15% without looking like a "starving third world person." I'm probably not that anymore (that was from my teen years) but I'm sure it's still possible!
- I know a male who was 10% body fat- he had really good abs :o) I'm not sure with a female as every single female has different size boobs and boobs are why females have more fat than males. You need to check your age, weight and hieght on a body fat calculator and they will have a scale of the lowest body fat to be healthy. You do not want to loose so much body fat that you become unhealthy. There is only a very small percentage of wemon who you can see there abs and they are usually professional athletes, you can have the line down the middle though, which shows you are defined.
- Definitely don't go below 12% body fat unless you want to encounter serious health problems. If you want defined abs, without looking too lean, go for around 17% body fat. Also, you don't want to get rid of too much 'weight', what you want to do is lose fat and gain muscle in it's place. Good luck : )
