Can I trust the trend of my body fat scale?
I have gained 5 pounds since January; however, my body fat has gone from a high point of 20 to a high point of 18.5 when dehydrated, and a low point of 17 to a low point of 14.5 when fully hydrated. Can I trust that my body fat has indeed gone down, even though Tanita scales aren't always 100% accurate about body fat?

- you should loss weight http://www.best-diet-food.com
- It would be better to have your body fat percentage tested with body fat callipers. This method is a lot more accurate than body fat scales. If your body fat really is as low as 14.5%, you should look extremely athletic/muscular indeed. HTH : )
- bodyfat scales, step-on or handheld, use a very small electrical current to get an aproximate percentage of your personal body fat amount. Water content can severly alter yur results, being too little or too much. They are not very reliable sources, unless you can keep a few things constant: -always test at the same time of the day -Never test during a water-retaining time (for women) -Test on an empty stomach -don't test too often, as your body fluctuates many time each day Just as we try to weigh ourselves under the same circumstances each time, do the same for your bodyfat measurements. While the results may not be 100% accurate to begin with, if you keep the same situations with each measurements, you should at last be able to track whether your losing or gaining fat.
