What is the maximum body fat percentage a person can have?

Obviously no one is 100% body fat, there is skin, bones, blood, and organs as well. What I want to know is, what is the maximum body fat percentage? For Men? For Women? I know it varies for different body types, etc. but as a general rule of thumb. I don't want to know what someone "should have." I want to know, what is the highest body fat percentage attainable. Thanks.

  1. I don't think that's something that has been thoroughly researched. It can be very high though, probably as high as 80%
  2. shoot for the stars! the skies the limit!
  3. See here: http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html This is just one example showing 68% for a female and 55% for a male. However, females should not have more than 30%-35% body fat and males no more than 20%-25% body fat (varies with age).
