How to calculate % body fat and what is the healthy %?

My waist is 36 inchs, my hips is 37 inchs. My weight is 71kg and my height is 163cm. I'm male, 17 this year. My BMI is like 26.7 so I believe need to lose at least 10-16 kg of fat. I tried some websites, which I think is very inaccuate. I have numbers ranging from 19+% to 26% My gym doesn't provide % body fat services and I am only trying things out on websites. Explain pls!

  7. The most practical, accurate way to do this is with a trained person using skin calipers. Since your gym doesn't do this, you have a couple of options. One, you can use a bioelectrical impedance scale. Be aware, however, that the measurement error is about + or minus 5% with this method and if you're even a little dehydrated, it will give a much higher reading. The other option is with circumference measurements of the right upper arm, abdomen, and right forearm. These measurements can then be plugged into an equation which will predict percent body fat. This has a measurement error of + or -2.5 to 4%, which is quite good. If you'd like, you can e-mail me and I will explain the anatomic landmarks for taking these measurements and the procedure. You can then send me the measurements and I will calculate the estimated body fat for you.
