Easy question for weight lifters/body builders!!!?
Ok ive just started a diet to lose weight , been doing cardio mostly and didnt bother with weights, though i lose 6 pounds since then, my diet is right though i started worrying that i was losing too, much lean body mass, ideally i need to by a body fat percentage calculating machine, though in the mean time i started lifting weights, id start with my triceps doing 6 reps of 60 pounds then going up 10 pounds for another 6 reps after about a 30 sec rest inbetween reps, i did that up to about 110 pound where my muscles would fatigue, i did that on cable cross overs tricep and bicep exercises, the day after my i was stiff aching in need of a stretch, i think that was his friday, on saturday i hit the gym again and did a little less, on saturday i was aching so i left the weghts along and just did cardio to let my muscles rest, i have a day off sundays, thogh my muscles are stull killing me,shall i hit the weights tomoz if they feel the same or just stick with cardio til they dont hurt?

- You have to give your body a "day off" in between lifts or else your muscles won't be able to recover. Doing cardio after weight lifting is great for fat burning, btw, because all of the glycogen(energy source) is out of your blood and your body is forced to use fat instead
- Its normal that your muscles hurt the first week. what you should've done the first day is not have taken it to the limit so that it wouldn't have hurt so much. its okay if you go back to the wieghts wile you still feel pain but don't worry, the pain will go away by the second week. Oh and don't forget that you have to give a day off for every set of muscles. What you can do is on one day have the back and legs and tricepts and then on the second day you can have the chest the bicepts and shoulders. if you don't do this your muscles won't be able to grow. sit ups (abs) can be done everday. good luck.
- Doing less weight with more reps is more effective and should give you less muscle fatigue. Try focusing on one group of muscles a day. One day do arms, next legs, do shoulders and back another. Alternating days will give that group of muscles time to rest while still working out others and maximizing weight loss. Also do weights before your cardio. As for tomorrow, focus on the muscle group that hurts the least. Hope this helps.
- when that happens to me, i cant lift much anyway so end-up doing cardio.. but as soon as they are only slightly sore, i would be lifting harder.. if the muscles dont have enough time to replenish, then your not going anywhere fast..
- dude if u wanna lose weight and u wanna get stronger hit the gym every day no matter how u feel cept on sundays (:
- well i do weight lifting every 2nd day but i do power training. I find that if i try to do it the next day as well i cant lift as much and i get tired too quickly and it can get painfull so you should keep on doing what your doing but maby skip a day between exercising but dont slack off
