Body Fat and BMI?
How do you calculate Body Fat? I really want to know mine. And is a BMI of 23.69 good or bad? I'm a 14 year old.

- BMI doesn't tell you anything about body fat. All it is is a ration between your height and weight. It's supposed to tell if you are obese or underweight based assuming you have "average" body fat and muscle mass. For most people, it's not a good indicator of body fat because it doesn't take into account your body shape or muscle weight.

- AHH I KNOW THIS ONE!!! *Obtains book* BMI (Body Mass Index) Steps: 1: Multiply your weight in pounds by 703 2: Multiply your height in INCHES by itself 3: divide the first number by the second and then round to the nearest whole number. this is your body mass index. < 18.5: Under weight 18.5-24.9: healthy 25.0 - 29.9: overweight 30+ : Obese As for body fat, you have to do a rigorous test which include water and holding your breath for 5 minutes and only a select few places in the world actually do that test, but it is the best way to check body fat. P.S. a 23.69 is just in range of Healthy. But reading what I wrote above... you already knew that. P.P.S. You will probably gain more weight, going into an over weight stage because of puberty and it is going to be used to store energy for you to grow taller... incase you get into that stage and you try to exercise to get it off... its natural to be over weight at this age no matter what people say (being over weight and unhealthy is a different story... of course).
