  1. The South Beach has a lot of good things going for it. It concentrates on zero processed food and plenty of natural proteins and vegetables. Go straight to stage two, where you get to eat wholegrain food and a little of what you fancy. It's basically a healthy eating plan for life. Give it a go - it will make you think about exactly what you are putting in your mouth and where it came from!
  2. The South Beach Diet is a diet plan started by cardiologist Dr. Arthur Agatston that emphasizes the seperation of "good carbs" from "bad carbs" && "good fats" from "bad fats". It's good for people who find it difficult to stick with the Atkins diet, which emphasizes that all carbs are off-limits. In Stage One of the South Beach Diet you can eat: lean cuts of beef, turkey bacon (2 slices per day), turkey breast && chicken breast all seafoods fatfree or lowfat lunchmeat fatfree or lowfat cheeses nuts eggs tofu most veggies fatfree or lowfat milk (2 cups per day) but you can't have certain foods: fatty cuts of beef chicken wings && legs fatty cheeses beets, carrots, corn, potatoes all milk products all fruits all bread, cereal, oatmeal, pasta, or other baked goods When you go to the grocery store you can find a lot of foods that have a little blue sticker that says "Approved For South Beach Diet" on them like frozen Boca Meatless Chili && a few lunchable-type dinners next to the lunchmeat in the deli section. Not eating is bad for your metabolism && slows it down a lot, so go ahead && eat! Eating breakfast speeds up your metabolism as well as eating smaller meals more often instead of three big ones. && its not how much you eat its what you eat. Eating fatfree or lowfat varieties or foods can help you lose weight easier. Also you should remember that because you're an athlete you might just have more muscle mass && if you're muscular you should know that muscle weighs more than fat. && as for your body type, wrap your hand around your wrist. If your fingers touch you have an average body type, if they dont you have a large body type, && if they overlap or there's space in between you have a small body type. && it's really who you are on the inside that counts. :) Hope I helped!
