How do you measure body fat?
I don't want to pay a personal traniner tons of money to do this. Is there a way to accurately measure body fat on your own?

- There actually several of the BMI calculators on the internet. BMI refers to body mass index. These calculators are free--they compute your height, body frame, weight (and I think age).
- Stand on a weighing scale and subtract the average weight as per ur height and age.
- I jump once. If I keep vibrating, I cut back on what I'm eating. If I land firm, everything's gravy.
- Here is a site I use. It is not the most accurate, but "it's close enough for government work" (pun very much intended).
- Try looking for accumeasure skinfold calipers. It might take you a couple of weeks to be an expert at measurement, but eventually your reading will be with 0.5%. It is also good to go for bio-impedence testing once in a while to make sure that you are not too off
- Yes, I have found that by purchasing both body fat percentage scales (Tanita) and body fat callipers (Accu-Measure), you can get an accurate idea of your body fat percentage by cross-referencing the two readings. Using body fat callipers does take a little practice, but if you find the two readings are similar or the same, then you can be pretty sure that it is a fairly accurate measurement of your body fat percentage. Both of these items can be purchased through Ebay for reasonable prices. HTH : )
