- BMI THEN GIRTH WITH CALIPERS
- Hydorstatic wighing is the best one.
- Try on your jeans from LAST winter.
- height weight charts are misleading bmi can be misleading for folks who weight more due to bulked up muscles girth is interesting, tell me more hydrostatic should be most accurate assessment of fat percentage
- The old-fashioned way: Look at yourself in a mirror, and if you can pinch more than an inch, you're FAT. But...it depends on how you see it. If you're still healthy and active, but a little overweight...? I wouldn't panic. Just reduce the amount of food your consuming by a third every day and exercise just a bit more to amp your metabolism. (Walking's good.)
- Take off your pants and have someone slap your butt. The time it takes for the jiggling to stop is your measure of fat. This also works on the back of your thigh.
- The most accurate and cost effective way is to see how you look in the mirror. If you can see your abs, and have good vascularity . ie veins in your biceps, and you can pinch about less than one cm of skin, then you can be pretty sure your bodyfat will be in the 8 - 10% region.
