What method does the Coast Guard use to measure body fat?
Do they use the army/air force method, or the Navy circumference method? Thank you very much for the help.

- They use the Fuller method. The fuller you are, the fatter.
- we use your height/ weight, and then we do a neck and wrist measurement, I believe the tables used are developed by the Navy.
- They hold a donut in front of your face and if you grab for it, it means your fat.
- To measure body fat, the military uses a measuring tape. they measure your neck, and waist circumference. Subtract neck from waist to get an index number. Then cross your height with the index number to get your body fat percentage. There has been a lot of contention that this is the least accurate way to get body fat percentile. The medically accurate way is to immerse the body in water after taking weight of the person. Fat is less dense that bone or muscle. By doing calculations of the water dispersed by the body dunked in water, they can determine the body fat more accurately.
