- BMI isnt 100 percent reliable cuz it doesnt take into account whether or not your weight is through muscle or fat so it cant always ttell if your healthy or not
- how was the body fat % measured and how old are you?
- From your BMI calculation you appear to be fine, most adolescents are in and around 14 for their body fat. BMI is categorised Underweight = <18.5 Normal weight = 18.5-24.9 Overweight = 25-29.9 Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater hope this helps x
- Your body fat percentage is very good for a male. However, BMI is total crap. Because technically my husband has a higher BMI than I do and he's in fabulous shape. The problem is, BMI doesn't take into consideration composition, that is, muscle weighing more than fat. If your body % is 10.8, that means you have quite a bit of muscle and depending of how tall you are, your BMI could say that you're nearly overweight, which is ridiculous. BMI is a chart that you look at to see if you're in a proper weight bracket for you height and such. Which is stupid. There are plenty of body builders who are pure muscle and by the chart, are considered overweight. So don't go by BMI, it's retarded.
