What do the body water percentage readings on Tanita or any body water scale mean?

I went to the doctor and they gave me percentages of lean body mass, fat and body water. Very interesting, but it would be MORE interesting if I could find what the body water reading means. Am I extra watery? Am I a dry husk? I am not sure what is normal. It was a Tanita scale, but I know that other brands make similar products.

  1. I'm not sure about females, but for me (a male), I am 14% body fat which means I need to be 70-75% water. Im pretty sure women require more water than males, so Find your body fat percentage, (either through calculations, or a special scale), and see how it compares.
