Why do people think a US size 6 is big for 5ft2? Please read!?

Is it because of vanity sizing?? I mean do most girls these days that wear a US size 6 have 30 inch waists or something? Because I wear a US size 6 and my body fat percentage is in the 'ideal' category. I only have a 26/27 inch waist, why on earth do people think it's fat? I know I'm not fat, but some of the answers I read on this site disturb me. graciela, you do have a point there. US size 6 = US size 10. About Janice Battersby, I have read so many things about her I don't know what to believe any more lol. I mean US size 6 = UK size 10 sorry.

4. No! I wear a size 5 or 6. My doctor tells me I am healthy. Its quite disterbing these days seeing a lot of woman stick thin. I think this is a perfect size.
5. A US size 6 is an 8 isn't it? That's tiny! You must be lovely and slim! I think the world has gone mad re 'sizing' I read a copy of TV Times a while back and there was an article about 'Janice Battersby' in Coronation Street and it was claiming she was a size 6 (US) I was so cross I wrote in and complained, she clearly isn't a size 6, she's not fat but neither is she a 6 she looks more like a 12 to 14 to me and I just thought of all the young girls seeing the picture of her looking rather bigger than a 6 and thinking Oh My Gosh if she's a 6 what size do I need to get down to!!!

7. People who think that that is fat probably have a very poor self image. I think you sound just right. A lot of the answers on this site disturb me too. The thing that really disturbs me is that there are kids of 9 and 10 years old on here asking if they are fat. That is awful.
