What should my body fat percentage be on May 1st?
Please only continue with answering if you truly have knowledge in fitness and nutrition. Currently, its 23%. My goal is 16%. Please don't say "Thats too low!!....", its where I was for years and doctors said I was extremely healthy. Anyway, I started running again last week. If I run three miles a day five days a week, could I be at 16% by May 1st? Btw...I eat very clean. No fried or fast food, no soda...not even diet!

- Not sure. Is it good to measure like that?
- That sounds like a good goal. But I would not kill myself getting there. If your healthy like the doc says. www.parentswithpassion.com/?ID=17133
- Well by itself I'm going to say no.With a balanced diet it's a definite yes.Just start eating a bit better to help it move along with the exercise and you'll see your younger body again in no time.
- 16% looks like a reach for may Day, but you should be in the teens by then and on your way. Good luck.
- answering with true knowledge is OBVIOUSLY not a requirement in Y/A but nice try. I say go for it in a healthy way and let the numbers come as they do. The body fat percentage is not exact anyways so don't worry about a percent or two. Checking it too often with inaccuracy could freak you out. The running needs to vary with some medium and even some real slow running. the extra time that is required by running slower than usual will increase your cardiovascular and help to keep you injury free. Only push it hard in your runs once or twice a week until in great shape then you can push it hard every other run. Be consistent and healthy and enjoy what you are doing and you will be successful. Oh, yeah, nutrition - eat good things.
- running is a good way of keeping the fats low but remember the key point is watching what you eat. remember excess proteins and carbohydrates are stored in terms of fat. so it has also a lot to do with watching what you eat. avoid foods with saturated fats and trans fats. you can do it with determination.
