body fat scale reviews

BMI is 33.5 and body fat is 13-18%? Huh?

These online calculators are contradicting themselves. On the BMI chart for it, it says I'm obese, but on the body fat chart, it says I'm not. Huh?! Haha. What the hell. It's done it on multiple calculators...

  1. BMI doesn't take into consideration your muscle
  2. It just means that you have a lot of muscle tissue. BMI only looks at your weight and height. Since muscle weighs more than fat, BMI thinks youa re fat, when in fact, youa re just very athletic.
  3. If you are someone who exercises/trains, BMI is a useless tool for measuring body composition. Also, the accuracy of body fat %age depends on the method used to get the results... bio-impedence scales, calipers ..e.t.c. all have big room for error. The ONLY was to accurately measure body composition (fat/muscle e.t.c..) is by under water weighing (which is done under lab conditions).
  4. The BMI is a completely useless calculator. According to this scale, professional bodybuilders, who are at around 3-4% bodyfat, are morbidly obese. Use your actual bodyfat percentage to set goals for yourself, do not use the BMI index.
