- Having a bunch of Oreos won't make you fat in one day. It takes several days for this to happen. If you want to know if it's reading your weight properly, get a heavy item that you know how much it weighs and see if the scale measures it properly. As for the rest, it's really a guess more than anything else as these values can fluctuate throughout the day depending on the time and what it is you've eaten or drank. Edit: To the other poster, these scales measure body fat, muscle & water by sending a small electric current through your body. As fat, water & muscle each have different levels of resistance, it can calculate the ratio of each by how long it takes for this circuit to be completed. As I said, it's accurate to a degree but these values can fluctuate throughout the day depending on the time and how much you've had to eat & drink.
- Those scales that measure body fat, water weight etc. are not accurate for each individual. How can scales possibly know exactly how much fat and water you have in your body. They don't! They measure your overall weight and then just deduce the average water weight and fat weight for most people. You'd be better off pinching an inch. Grab some skin from your tummy or under your arms and pinch between thumb and forefinger. If you can pinch more than an inch, then you need to loose a bit and tone up.
