- There is no 100% accurate way of measuring body fat but I bought myself a set of scales by Tanita a few years ago (about £40), and after setting my stats - female, height, I leap on and after a few seconds it tells me my weight and fat percentage. You can get other makes and ones that also tell you your body water levels, bone mass as well as fat and weight.
- If you can`t see your credentials you are too fat!
- You can buy some body fat scales that measure the fat content by measuring your electrical resistance. Higher the fat content the greater the resistance. But you need to read the instructions carefully. For accurate measurement you need to be well hydrated as the your water level also affects the resistance. The gold standard for fat measurement is skin fold measurement with caliper where they take several measurements from different parts of the body. this is not practical for home use and you need to go to health center or a nutritionist. Hope this helps Cheers Pree
