body fat percentage?

since people with a lower body percentage have a faster metabolism than people with a higher one, does that mean they can basically eat anything they want with out really gaining any weight? say they have like a 10% body fat, would they be more likely to not gain weight or become fat from eating junk food regulary, but also eating healthy? does having a low BMI mean you have a faster metabolism, or mean you never really have to worry about gaining weight?

  1. I dont know the answer but I can say this... your BMI is your body mass indicated. Do not get it confused with ur BFI body fat indicator. They are different things. And no, your BMI does not have much to do with ur metabolism rate
  2. the body fat % is a direct indicator of the bodies current ability to metabolize and utilize nutrients efficiently. when body fat is low insulin sensitivity is high in the muscle cell. this means that the body is more efficient at both fat burning and storing excess blood sugar. as insulin sensitivity decreases the body fat % increases and less nutrients are metabolize and stored in the muscle cell and more get shuttled into fat cells. so it is much harder for a lean person to get fat while the person with a high level of body fat gets continually fatter and fatter even with a reduced caloric intake. there is no correlation between the BMI and level of body fat. a person can have a low BMI with a high percentage of body fat. this is exactly why the body fat % is a much more accurate indicator of health than the BMI. body fat analysis is an actual measurement while the BMI is based purely on statistical data from the 1950's.
