- Actual fat is when you have been eating twinkies all day, and water weight is when you have eaten something with a lot of sodium or perhaps on your period. Water weight goes down overnight. Fat just stays there looking all nasty and disgusting. Once you wake up in the morning you should check your weight then.
- you will feel bloated or fatter than usual. water weight can be lost faster if you cut out salt and exercise. also, water retention occurs around your period
- there are many ways to do this. go to your local gym and ask for a body assessment because "you're interested in signing up". or if you already go to a gym ask a trainer to give you a body assessment. they'll let you know. there are many different methods (bioelectrical impedance [you hold a small machine that looks like a steering wheel for a go cart for a while], skin calipers, circumference measurements of body parts, etc.) and the most accurate is normally medical imaging followed by hydrostatic weighing (underwater weight). if you have skin calipers handy email me at bparungao2@yahoo.com and i'll tell you how to get your body fat percentage calculated. if not, you'll have to ask a professional to do it for you
- BMI - Body Mass Index (percentage of body fat) is not something that can be calculated on weight alone. The formula that BMI is based on is calculated using weight, age, height, body type and lifestyle factors - the more stats required the more accurate the results will be. To be the most accurate get your doctor to do the calculations - otherwise The biggest loser web site did have a BMI calculator last time I looked. And don't get to freaked out by the results - even really skinny people can have incredibly high BMI's if they are unfit or lead particularly unhealthy lifestyles. The difference between actual FAT and Water Weight is that water weight is going to be expelled through urination or perspiration where as Fat is not as easy to shift. An example of Water Weight being used in professional sport is weight lifting - before a comp Weight Lifters will do a wicked workout and then drink alot of water as it is then absorbed by the Muscle Tissue which then bloats to give defined appearence to the muscles and muscles groups. This practice is risky and not recomended as it can result in the competitor appearing 'fat and bloated'. Hope I've managed to answer your question. Good Luck and Take Care.
- Actual fat stays there forever. You can lose weight but those fat cells can only shrink in size at most. Water weight is temperaly and is caused by high sodium/high water foods such as fruit, pickles, etc.
