losing body fat is their a scale of some sorts?

I was wondering if their was a way to predict body fat loss. Lets say I was at 18 percent 160lb, 24 yo, 5 foot 10 male naturally skinny to muscular frame. Does anybody know how much body fat one could lose in 1 month or 2 months or 3 months and so on if the diet was in check and cardio 3 times a week and weight training 4 times a week.   1. Unfortunately, there's no way anyone can make an accurate assessment of how much body fat such a person would lose over time. Too many variables involved. For example, this person may think his diet is in check but he could be eating things he shouldn't or not getting enough of another nutrient he really needs. We also don't know how much cardio he'd be doing (there is such a thing as too much) and we don't know what type of weight training program is being used. Is this guy doing a bulking routine to build muscle mass or is he doing more of a cutting routine to tone up? Much more information is needed...

No. The amount of fat you shift would depend on HOW 'in check' your diet was (relative to the way you're used to eating), HOW MUCH cardio you do 3 times a week, and HOW HARD you train with weights 4 times a week. All of these things could vary quite a bit, so it's impossible to calculate any of your body's responses to them. In addition, other things about your lifestyle would affect your reaction to the exercises and dieting. Your other daily activities use fats and sugars for fuel, and might be stressful or physically tiring. Adding gymwork might mean that overall, you're overtraining. For most people, a fixed exercise regime is inappropriate, because the amount of stress and exertion that you do out of the gym will vary from week to week. This means that your diet, and your exercise programme should vary to take account of the other changing demands that your body experiences. Your expectations should be flexible, too, so that improvements are seen as positive progress, even if they appear more slowly than you'd like.
