What is the healthy amount of body fat to have?
I went online to a full body analysis and it told me that my body fat is 20% of my weight. What is the healthy body fat percentage? How can I get at that level? Sources? Here's the link I used. http://health.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Full-Body-Analysis I'm a male.

- The only very accurate way to learn your body fat percentage is to use skin fold caliper tests or to be weighed underwater. 21-33% is the healthy range for women.
- males are 10-15 percent most healthy, women are 20% (this is so they can give birth) Hope that helps!
- For women 20-40, the general rule is 20% to 33% body fat is ok. That range increases a bit if you are older than 40. For men 20-40 the healthy range is about 8% to 19%, and again, the range shifts higher with age. This source should be accurate since it's based on WHO and NIH guidelines.
- Maybe around 20 but I'm not sure. Oh and I'm 12 and my body fat is 30 %
- I was at about 15 and was told that is pretty ideal, shoot for 10 and lower if you want to see ab definition/muscle definition in general
- for women it is 27% and for men its 15%.. so.. ure in good shape!! but ive never heard of doing it online. did u have to measure urself? but yay!
- that is perfect, keep eating healthy and excercising regularly.
- That online thing is not accurate at all. I use this scale, it sends out little electrical signals to see the thickness of skin/fat on the bottom of your feet. I've compared it to the skin fold test and it is very accurate. I'm a male and at about 13% body fat.
