I feel fat?

I'm 13 and 100 pounds. All my life I've been skinny and I still am, but ever since I started dancing more my muscles have developed a ton. I'm 5'2. Anyways, I did this test online to check my body fat percentage. I got 12%. Does that mean most of my weight is from the muscles I've obtained through dance? Also, today when I was making breakfast I made myself a piece of toast with a bit of peanut butter. My mom told me it was totally fattening and that i shouldn't be eating it. She acts as if I really need to loose weight or something. So know I'm really insecure about eating around her. What are some tips for that?

  1. Peanut butter has peanut oil in it and sugar and protein. It's not a bad food unless you eat a lot of it. A thin layer of peanut butter is no bad thing. I'd have to see a picture to be able to judge your appearance but if you had your body fat measured at 12 % that's certainly in the athletic range for a girl. Ask your dance teacher if you should be managing your diet more aggressively. You are the one that puts food in your mouth. If you eat healthy and look healthy and workout there is not a whole lot you can do except get weird about it. I mean you don't want to go on food supplements at your age. It's too hard to manage your nutrition unless you eat real food. Your mom wants whats best for you but is probably not a reliable source for information. Release your personal fears and learn about sports nutrition from a reliable source. Get a book from the library or online. There is lots of gobbledygook about nutrition from people that don't know much but little bits of misinformation.
