1. i'm actually not sure how low your body fat has to be, but you do have to be fairly slim. you don't have to buy a fat calculator, just use one online. here's a link to a BMI calculator [its pretty accurate]: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

3. It varies, but it is approximately from 5 to 10% for guys and for women below 15%. You can buy a fat caliper online for not much but since it will be hard to measure i suggest you go down to the closest gym and get ur fat% taken once a month in order to see any progress. I'm sure it is not that expensive. I think there are sites were you can also measure your girth measurements and type them in and it will give you your fat%. Hope i helped.
